Three? On the same wave?

Fish, I haven't done a turn yet this season.

I'd just love to have something solid to ride.

Here's the write up on Cardiff from the Stormriders Guide.
Three high quality reef waves come alive with winter swells. The reef to the immediate north of the lagoon mouth is called Tippers, a hollow, fast left and shorter, mushier right. Just south is Suckouts, a hairball righthand barrel over a very shallow reef (like a mini Shark Island). Easy to get hurt here.
Then the more mellow South Peak in front of the parking lot-long quality rights peeling into the channel. Some hollow sections, really lines up on low tide.

Just in: Anyone who competed in all five kneeboard events will qualify for the championships. Cost hasn't been determined yet, it is up to the national office.
If they continue these seven will qualify;
Tom Linn
Sean Noone
Evan Odom
Tom Fish
Chris Bermudez
Leonard Miller
Eric Osland

I have three Venezuelan's interested in the Cardiff contest, but it's pretty expensive for one contest.

Ok, thanks CP.
Seaside Reef:
Quality deep water reef peak, lefts dominating. Outside is a thick hollow ledgy take-off after which the wall backs off in the middle, then reforms on the inside. Needs a west swell, mid tide.

Looks like we have two guys from Venezuela competing. 8) Maybe they will make more heats with less people in each heat to ad some breathing space in the water. So if there are three heats, 1st place goes to the final, second and third go to repechage. 1st, 2nd, 3rd from repechage goes to the final.
Hope for waves.

Wow, things are getting interesting,
lots of points at stake here,
a good showing could change the rankings,
and secure a lead heading into the final stop in Dec. in MB/SD
Tom Linn & da Creek Krew vs. HB Kneelo's
could there be a wild card in the Heats?

Marginal weather will keep the posers at home watching College Football
mid day low tide - nice reef break
Noone's due for a big day
does the Young Odom hold the local advantage?

Time to paddle out and have some fun!
30 years in the making, don't wait another decade to decide,
many of us may be gone by then.

TO THE BEACH.>>>>>>>

Saturdays kneeboard heats will be just after a 6 foot high tide tops out. Good chance it will be swamped. The finals will be during a rapid drop towards a negative low.
Never leave well enough alone.

Forecast calling for a steep NW (300 deg) to fill in throughout the day, but she's not showing on even the Harvest buoy yet...

Harvest buoy is SD + 10 hours :?

Huge bummer on yet another flat Grovel Fest. Really feel for the commited. Here at home....just another work day here with Gene O.......better to make money on a flat day.....than to throw away earnings chasing points on Lake Pacifica .....especially with this ever sinking economy.

Good luck all.....especially Noone and the Super EQ..

Hope the kids are fed.

NSSA Kneeboard contest #4 at Cardiff, Seaside reef.

Seaside showed a glimpse of it's perfectly shaped A frame peak at mid tide during the first and second semifinal kneeboard heats with three to four foot faces on the sets.
It was a beautiful day with some sun and glassy conditions making the Venezuelan crew comment on how warm it was.

Heat one was a loaded heat with Tom Linn, Ed Quinn, Eric Peterson, Chris Bermudez and Venezuelan Lucas Castellano.
Ed Quinn and Tom Linn battled for the win with almost tubes and solid hits on set waves during the heat. Quinn won with consistent off-the-lips that sent buckets of water flying. Linn received second right behind Quinn and Chris Bermudez took third with a couple of his patented 360 spinners on the inside. Conditions were kinda mushy.

Heat two saw Sean Noone, Paul Devoy, Tom Fish, Evan Odom and Venezuelan Max Lamas.
Paul Devoy won the heat with some incredibly long rides. Evan Odom took second with some nice cutbacks and off-the-lips. Max Lamas took third to advance to the final.
The waves seemed to slow down during the final with conditions getting smaller, mushier and less consistent as the tide was going into the negative.

The final heat had Ed Quinn, Tom Linn, Chris Bermudez, Paul Devoy, Evan Odom and Max Lamas battling for the left and right at the peak.
Tom Linn won with some nice cutbacks while going left on the set waves. Linn has significantly increased his overall lead in the season points ranking with this win. Evan Odom received second place with some nice off-the-lips and long rides. Ed Quinn was right behind him with a few set waves and catching probably the biggest right in the heat.
Venezuelan Max Lamas received fourth and rounding out the heat was Paul Devoy fifth and Chris Bermudez sixth.
Congratulations guys, see you in San Diego December 8, 2012.
