What an awesome weekend and event! Fun waves, great weather and excellent surfing again this year. It was so cool to see all the stoke on the beach that surrounded the event. A few of my stand up buddies and lifeguards commented on how close knit the kneelo community seems and how we all hang around and cheer each other on and general great vibe of the whole ksusa event. that was cool to hear.
stoked to see old friends and meet new ones even if i see them only once a year! KSUSA brings us all together
so great to see the juniors division stepping it up and looking good out in the surf with some new faces in the mix 8) some of them new to kneeboarding we need to embrace em all! what a positive experience and event for them to be introduced to kneeboarding.
chris linn and sam coyne impressed the hell out of me surfing so well during the whole event!
The guys in the open final killed it in the surf the whole event great to see!
all the finalists deserve a huge round of applause :D
big tony, amanda and joe taylor mike butler and fig on the mic thanks for helping make the event so killer from the water and to the bleachers
see ya next year!

So good to hear that efforts of all those on this site in helping to get Sam Coyne and Chris Linn on the grom trip to Phillip Island a few years back, plus the support of their families and friends, and plenty of their own time and effort put in the water has seen them get the results that many were hoping to see. The wave that Sam caught at the end of the final really allowed him to show where he is at, so good to see!

Stoked to see lots of old friends doing well too.

I think Tom Backer's post says it really well! A really smooth and fun event because of the great work of those hosting, the whole KSUSA organizing group. It only remained for the rest of us to be part of the great 10th year anniversary mojo, and to enjoy the competition and the evening festivities.

Certainly the glassiest waves in the warmest weather for a winter contest, and it was fun to see the good attitudes on display in the comp, with so many of those with great skills making it to the finals.

Totally worth the long drive down from NorCal. Thanks to all of you!

The Orange County Register just posted a short, engaging video about kneeboarding in general and this weekend's KSUSA contest in particular:

Great hit by Pat Evans near the end!

Jamie's post made me realize something. Several years ago the KSUSA and the world kneelo community spontaneously funded a trip for three grooms to Oz. Our Aussie brothers took them in like family. Today Sam and Chris are starting to make their mark on the KSUSA. The third grom, SeaBass Perez is a pro bodyboarders who still knee rides. He couldn't make our comp because his sponsor sent him to the North Shore to compete in a bodyboard event at Pipe and to get pics at massive Pipe.

That's a pretty good return on an investment we made together.

The Open's four names will live on the site for years,
but to get there they had to go through the semi's,
and that was after scoring higher than the others in the quarters.

See how it all played out Sunday, on the Road to the Open

Another great event put on by KSUSA! Thanks to everyone behind the scenes for allowing us to speed surf southside all by ourselves. It was awesome seeing everyone again and I got to meet/know a bunch of new people too! Looking forward to next year!
