Now that the US Titles have successfully completed, it's time to start thinking about the World Titles. The 2013 ISA World Kneeboard Surfing Championships is scheduled for 14- 21 July 2013. That's just six months away, so we need to start planning for Team USA participation.

Team USA
Kneeboard Surfers planning to participate in the World Titles should contact contestinfo@ksusa.org to be added to the Team USA roster.
As in past World Titles events, it is expected that competitors will have competed in at least one Kneeboard Surfing contest over the past two years. If you were unable to compete due to injury, work schedule, travel, or other hardship, you may request an exception.
It is expected that a number of US surfers will be seeded into the main event. Team USA will be ranked according to results of the 2012 and 2013 KSUSA US Titles. The KSUSA contest ranking will be updated soon to include the results of the 2013 contest.

Same for us. The only chance for us to go and for Evan to compete hinged on using air miles to purchase the flight tickets. To do this we would need to apply for the tickets when they are first released which was months before any confirmed contest dates.
Good luck to all.
Good luck to all.

Looks like they've got plenty of swell for the contest.

Ruben Gutierrez Presmanes has some photos on Facebook, including this list of round one competitors. Looks like 36 people competing.

Some thoughts...
a. Wow: 9 kneelos (1/4 of the contestants) from Venezuela! What's going on in that country?
b. Zero Americans--I thought there were 2 or 3 mavericks that made it.
c. No contestants from the UK.
d. The absence of Albert, Simon and Gavin is certainly significant to note in holding the world championships.
Thanks for posting the heat sheets!

I'm not influenced by the past; I change it!
