Such a professional coverage and documentation of a contest; maps, interviews while watching the surfing, just an amazing effort. Sorry the waves were so difficult for a contest. Hoping for much better next time for you guys and the video will be just great, too.
I'm not influenced by the past; I change it!

I'm not sure what you're seeing, Fish. I still get a 1-2 foot report with good wind all day.

WAVES we had WAVES!

the two back to back heats were contested in solid 4-6 foot surf,
by the time the Final went off the tide was draining and sets were spaced, mix in two major outside close-out sets and those boys were spent.

Congratulations to the 'local boy' Sean Noone, who pulled off two long runners to cement high scores and hold off a hard charging Eric P.
Great to see Ken back again, this group of guys is so supportive of each other, big 'High Fives' all around when Tom Fish qualified for the final.

Will have a more detailed recap after we review the tape.

Heat One open with Brad, Sean, Leonard and Ken all grabbing quick rides. Following a close-out set and loll, Sean picked a long down the beach lefty, Leonard and Ken followed with shorter rides. Brad set up for a dramatic cover up, only to get swallowed up. Sean nabbed another long one, and Brad slotted himself to nowhere again. Evan managed a right and a quick left at the buzzer. After adding things up, Sean, Leonard and Brad advanced.

Heat Two started as the crew faced an endless inside white-water paddle out. The sets were more sporadic and larger on the outside catching the guys inside or sprinting up big faces. Eric manned up first and dropped in grabbing a nice large face but the tricky midsection swallowed him up. Taking a page from 'local' Sean Noone in the earlier heat, Paul Devoy nabbed two longer rides on the north end of the contest area, almost blending in to the non-contestants who consistently ignored the requests to stay clear. Tom Fish nabbed two quick waves and later in the heat bombed down one of the larger waves. Eric had another great face, but like most of the others got overrun half-way in by the unpredictable midsection. Last contest's stand out Chris Bermudez managed only one small insider and didn't make the cut, sending Eric, Tom and Paul to the final about 90 minutes later in a lowering tide.

Final: Sean, Brad, Leonard all got off to a good start. Tom Fish nabbed two quick small insiders, and Paul found an edge but it didn't have the power of his earlier ones. Brad and Leonard were spaced apart but managed to both grab the same waves twice, the first time Leonard was looking way down the line and never saw Brad, resulting in an interference call, taking him out of the running for the top spot. Eric had a few nice ones but he ran out of gas near the end. All the guys fought to find a good take off spot, the long lolls and big clean-up sets way outside wore them out. In the end Sean out scored Eric and Brad to take his first win and narrowed the points spread on Colwell. With three more stops, things are still very much for grabs. The next event is in Cardiff, November 23
