Hi Mike,

It's good to know that there's interest beyond what's been posted here. I have emailed a question to Gayline but have not yet gotten a reply.

It seems that we could ask for kneeboarding in all of the contests. I would propose that we then use each surfer's top 5 (out of 7) finishes to determine any rankings. That would allow for some flexibility for work committments or injury.

Sounds good Brad as long as they have at least one or two heats per contest. Not sure if they would like to run a three or four person contest. This thing is growing for sure.

I received another request from Gayline about dates and since nobody has set the dates on here and only six have posted an interest on this thread, I suggested these dates; Sept 7 HB, Oct. 5 Salt Creek, Nov. 23 Seaside reef, Feb. 8 HB and April 19 Oceanside.
Seems like more people are coming from north of OC than from SD area, plus I only hear bad things about Pacific Beach and San Fernando Court. Most of the dates are the same as last year. I think this should work well since we are not getting two complete heats in every contest yet. Things are growing it seems though. The worst thing would be to have a bunch of contests with only three or four competitors in one heat. That would kill the program. This is only my suggestion, I am not in it, or running the show, just a helpful conduit.
In the absence of a plan, someone has to take charge.
Feel free to e-mail Gayline if you guys would like to add or change dates, she might oblige.

Those are great, Mike.

I like how they are spread out too.

I am good with these. The locations seem to be evenly split between the counties. I am a Pacific Beach-Mission Beach native and those would not be my choice for one of the five.

I could be wrong, but I think the fees are lower.

Hey guys. I finally got accepted for membership to this site after many attempts. I'm excited to be able to communicate with you all now. I definitely plan on surfing some of the NSSA events, possibly the Sept. date at HB but befinitely the Salt Creek event in Oct. I already have my flight set for that one. I live in a suburb of Seattle for the past 15 years. I haven't been in the water in 28 years, having given up the sport in 1985 to pursue a career in music. In the 80's I was sponsored by Fluid Drive surfboards, Body Glove wetsuits, later Surf Skins wetsuits and a surfwear shop in the Santa Monica mall. I won the first 5 contests I'd entered (mostly WSA events) but I simply quit. I re-entered the water on a new Fluid Drive board I designed and Tim Phares shaped for me in June, surfing here in Washington, back home in Santa Monica and the south bay and in Alaska. I am enthused to see so many kneeboarders now after so much time has passed and I look forward to meeting and competing with many of you in the very near future.

Welcome OT. I also had a long break. It would help if you went out and got into paddling shape. The riding comes back fairly quickly, but the paddling muscles take time.
