In the days of Kirra working before they wrecked the banks kneeboard standouts Paul Herriot and the late Neil Cameron. The early bird Peter Blom was always the first in the water. Peter Turner who owned Kirra Surf used to ring Blommie for the surf reports on the radio. If Kirra was not working D-bah always had a great wave and of the break wall was kneeboarders corner. Peter Holman was another always their. He run a great kneeboard contest for many years "The Easter Duranbah". Great memories. :D

Fascinating and enlightening interview with David Parkes by Rob Harwood and our friends at Legless. It includes a blow by blow of the World contest final heat, the nature of competitive kneeboard surfing, hosting the event in Tahiti, etc. Thanks for a good read, Rob, and for sharing your mind, David!
