2004 KSUSA Kneelo Festival- date and venue

Post by Tom Linn »

Mark your calendars everyone. The 2004 Santa Cruz Kneeboard Festival featuring the US Kneeboard Titles will be held at Pleasure Point on November 18th, 19th and 20th (Thursday (if necessary), Friday and Saturday). We are planning on an even bigger and better event this year.

The event will end Satruday afternoon, the awards will be Saturday evening at a local pub. Plan on driving home on Sunday.

This year we will be adding a Juniors division to complement our Open, AAA and AA divisions. Substantial prizes and incentives will be made available to all Junior participants.

I'll be happy to respond to any question, comments or suggestions.

Hey Sprocky, I'm already building the next set of trophies. Judgeing from last year I think there will be alot of kb training camps gearing up for SC. Bring Willi along, I'm sure he would fit right in with the rest of us misfits.

As of 9/8/04 the construction/ cliff stablezation project at Pleasure Point is due to wrap up by mid October. The County's emergency permit is set to expire on 10/15/04 and it would be a pain to try and extend the permit.

If they are not finished, it typically is not that big of a deal to get extended to Oct. 31st, NOAA and CDFG and Coastal Commision can adminastratively extend the permit and will, if construction is not completed by the deadline especially if it is a emergency construction project. Most project managers will tell you the permit deadline and then deal with permit extensions if they have too. I have never had them deny me a permit extension even with serious endangered species issues at stake.

Dan every day you should go down there and cheer the construction crews on.

You may be right, Stemple. Just stop by Gayle's Bakery on the way and pick up a few 'bribes'.

I'll try and run by there tomorrow and check out the progress.
