I'm not familiar with the surf in that area. I looked online and saw many surf spots in the area, none of which were names I knew. Anyone have any idea what break(s) might host the contest?

Scott I live in the area & the three contest venues are beach breaks, a place called Bombo, Jones beach (or Kiama Downs), Surf beach in Kiama & Gerringong beach (which would be my pick followed closely by Bombo). There are a lot of reef breaks in the area but not really accessible for contest venues.

Thanks, Wolruss, for the input. Would you say the surf in this Kiama contest video is typical of what we might have? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYB4mZGnODw

G'day Scott,
I would have to say that the waves in the clip are about standard for the area, but in saying that, it does get bigger & better at times also it can get worse, like most places. The area's beach (as well as the reef) breaks can be reliant on the tides, mind you we have world class breaks when it's on.
I probably didn't clear that question up for you with that answer but really the south coast can turn it on like any other break along our eastern seaboard.
Cheers Russ

Cool ... great news. Hopefully I'll get to this one. Might even bring Old Crazy along for the ride too ... woohoo.
