KSUSA TITLES questions

1) Any chance we can get the scores annouced during heats this year? (like they do in the ASP, ISA, NSSA, ect)
Allows spectators to be more invested and for the surfers in the heat to know whats going on, where they stand, and surf accordingly.

2) There is a 6.4ft High Tide both mornings around 10am.
If the surf is too small to even break, will the contest be put on hold till the tide goes out... or start after the High Tide and run till sundown?

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Cheers

Per the question on high tide....

We have actually been blessed in the past with some of the better surf at the pier on high tide. Let's hope this happens again. If the surf is not contestable per the head judge then we will have to make adjustments to the schedule as time permits. If it is surfable, we surf.

Scheduling this event is difficult at best as the pier has become contest central (along with every other venue) and tides are just one of the many variables we have to take into consideration in selecting a date and location. Best we could do.

Per the question on announcements...

It does help competitors to hear the scores being announced. We will make every effort to do this. As you know we have several people on the microphone and it gets busy up there.

Looking forward to another great weekend of surf & sun!

Cheers,

Don

Thanks Don.
Totally agree we've had some great high tide years (far better than low tide), its just this year the swell may not cooperate and the sand bars could be under water.

if the judges are told to announce scores, they will from time to time.
Nice to sit on the beach and get an idea of whats going on in the water.

See you Friday
