RESULTS from the 12th Annual Wildcoast Dempsey Holder Surf Contest held in Imperial Beach on Saturday, November 7th, 2015
1. Bradford Colwell
2. Randy Morris
3. Hunter Johnson
4. Joe Coyne
5. Jeff Wallis
6. Tom Fish

This was the 4th year-in-a-row that The Dempsey had a kneeboard division. Big thanks to Jeff Wallis for being the IB catalyst year after year and to Wildcoast for the warm welcome each year. The contest was held under sunny blue skies with morning offshore winds and a modest long-period SW swell with waist-chest high waves. The Final was held on the outgoing tide with onshore winds in challenging, and frustrating surf. It was hard to get any length of ride on most waves but Brad and Randy found some corners that held up just enough to the higher scoring rides and finished near the top.

It was touch and go leading into the weekend after the rainstorm on Tuesday night but on Friday afternoon the water advisory was lifted and competitors and locals got to enjoy classic Fall conditions in Imperial Beach. This is a great event for a great cause. The theme for the day was "Peace, Love, and Clean Water!" Wildcoast is dedicated to protecting and preserving coastal areas in California and Mexico. San Diego County Supervisor Greg Cox was present to make a proclomation, and he received high praise from Wildcoast for his efforts on behalf of Clean Water in San Diego, California, Mexico, and nationally.

Thanks to Fred Rodriques and Tom Fish for skipping a day at The Cove to support the Dempsey and to hang with us...always a great time!

Hope to see everyone next year!
