look its been interesting watching all these responses and i wonder why it's so fascinating to all..
Both boys ride different boards with the only thing thats the same are the fin design...other than that
.There completly different....
.They vary between 23 and 231/4 wide...
.They vary between 23/8 in thickness and 2 1/4
.They vary between 5ft 8 and 5ft 9,1/2,,,chayne has less nose and more tail
.Troy had less tail and more nose width
.There fin position varies between 15 inches and 16 inches from the tail to the back of the fins.
They both have a box in the back with a large centre fin....not a smaller trailer
.There rockers are alot straighter than when they lived down here and now there on fatter slower waves we have compensated by flattening them out and straightening there fins slightly..with less concave.
.They have low rails and hard rail edges where apropriate.
.Both have concave with slight variations....but i doubt if it would matter to either in the long run....the boards are simple designs....and thats the way i like my boards,,,,no twisted, bent of spiral concaves, reverse vee's, double loop the loop bottoms etc etc.....all very simple like me!! the rest i think is well...un-necessary!! but that's me...
They like thrusters because they get more drive off their bottom turns because they can get the boards onto there rails better without twitchy direction changes, and the rails come into play more for hold.
.The biggest difference to most other riders is they like there boards fairly tight and want to have to drive the board through turns to get them cranking...they use there feet for drive alot like Simon does..hence the lumps on there feet from the pressure they exert on the back of there boards,Troy goes through a few sets of booties a year
.They don't like loose twitchy boards or boaty boards..They don't like flat slidey boards because they reckon it looks and feels lame....
.Thats why they hold through tight low cranking turns, with the fins I foil and the way there set up they release off the top very well...and the drive is pretty decent...but not for everyone.
My personal recomendation is for fixed fins....Im sick of fixing fcs and other fin system fins on local standups boards...i think there crap personally....they flex all the way through the fins from base to tip....mine don't.
And to lay another funny rumor to rest...anyone who wants my fins in there boards can have them....there not just for my "team riders" that one cracked me up!!...Iv'e even sent a set or two to other people who wanted to try something slightly different..(even overseas, but id prefer not to,,,because making fins is a drag)..... not that there's much different and i didn't invent them of make any claim in this direction...they just evolved from playing around...no mystery at all...
. Their board before and now could be ridden in alot of different conditions, not just reef breaks, they ride there boards in waves from 1ft to whatever....they both have longer boards but they don't see much daylight....they have both tried longer boards for general riding but have come back to the sizes mentioned above...
.Both stand up when it's small surf...chayne on his kneelo...Troy on a fish standup i made him...chayno's getting one as well soon...
. My son can ride nearly as well as the boys on his day and his boards are completly different again with the only similarity being the fin design...
Others have tried riding there boards and some haven't liked them..to tight..to thin etc...so i don't think there's a magic formula,,,what works for one, won't necessarily work for another,,,,and iv'e made them a couple of dud's over the years ....but they worked great for someone else....
And both are meat eaters and surf fit....but couldn't run a mile without collapsing in a heap...haha!!..and so was i when i was 25....old age will sort that out.
Both are different weights and heights...chayne is around 65 kg Troy is around 80k'g
And both don't necessarily like to ride each other boards...
and that last line says it all really.

sorry if i spoiled the fun..wasn't intended.....just thought it wise to clear the air and we didn't want to appear as if we were apart of some secret group..haha!!..although there are still a few small unknown's....the top blokes blow me away no matter what they ride......and im just glad to still be riding and shooting pics...i could easilly do without the shaping, glassing, sanding and painting,,,ha!! !!![/img]
