Never been there, always wanted to try it. I've been to Long Branch, where the people were really mean!!!! :(

Forecast so far is clean waist to chest for Saturday. Next forecast should be out tomorrow AM, if it sticks, I think we should do it.

OMG I am going to get kneeboard tips from Mike Fernandez. Someone pinch me. :D

Shoot me...

Post by WaterLogged »

Don't get your hopes up yet, although I got mine up and they have been crushed. The forecast for the weekend is currently falling, wave height size. It's still clean, but now thigh to waist.

By Friday, it will be flat.

I really have to get the hell out of here.

There is going to be significant size tomorrow and Friday, but with 25-30 kt onshore winds. I am actually considering going, because I am that desperate.

Welllllll....

Post by WaterLogged »

Well, it's going to be small, but clean, in New York over the weekend.

Waist to chest on Saturday, knee to thigh on Sunday.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for some bigger swells soon, so we can actually meet up!!! :D

I watch Swellinfo.com. It's pretty darn accurate, but have found that I can't make any plans until Friday for surfing on Sun/Mon. Too much change can happen during the week.

Yep, that's the site that I use also. They are usually really good with wave heights, but the winds tend to be a bit off at times, so I use the NOAA graphical forecast for that.

K-man, the waves are not looking too good. Did you know they are shutting down Coney Island

Now, now boyz - they aren't totally shutting down Coney. They are "cleaning it up" and putting in Vegas style entertainment.

In other words, it's going to suck.

I LOVE CONEY. I loved Coney the way it was - skanky. The freakshow, the carnies, hot dogs, playing air hockey, lots of really insane people wandering around. It was great! I don't know how much of it they are planning on preserving, but chances are I won't be spending too much of my summer down there anymore.

Thank God for L&B Spumoni Gardens or I would have no need for Brooklyn. *pouting*

Back to surfing..I am looking forward to the small, clean surf this weekend - even though I managed to come down with some kind of cold type ailment. I imagine a good 45 degree saltwater nasal enema will clear that right up!

Monday was looking real good at Rockaway last night, but has changed. I'll keep my eye on it.

Oh, you and Raw Sewage. I think you should come down to Kookville on your next trip.

If you're coming down on Monday, let me know. I am supposed to meet with the horse dentist (stop it, I can hear you laughing) but after the $625 vet bill yesterday, I may have to put her off until next week.

Yes, horses have dentists. My 22 year old mare has taken to gnawing on stumps instead of the toys I have for her, and she fractured her front incisors. :(

SWELL ALERT!!

Post by WaterLogged »

Surf Alert for the East Coast.

Head high to 1-2' OH E medium period swell with NORTH winds predicted for New York on Monday and Tuesday. With a little luck, the low will be blocked by a Maritme high, and the swell will stick around all week, with clean winds.

I'm not in shape for OH, but I want to come and watch. When the swell dies down a bit, I am all for paddling out. Who's coming? I'm going to wrap my foot and hobble on down.

:D :P
