Mike - neighbour saw it and he doesn't surf & reckoned it was an absolute beaut. Said it was one of the few movies he remained awake for the duration.
He said the only wanky part of it was Russel Crow's commentry.

Shows them as they really are - knockabout bunch of blokes protective of their homes and neighbourhood from other gangs & they've had plenty of rummbles with the likes of the rockers etc since the 70's. He'd heard the typical one sided press reports about the bra boys too & this gave him a completely different opinion of what they're really like. Like most I guess - if you're cool then everything'll be cool but if you act like a dickhead - you've got the entire clan to deal with.

Apparently some of the surfings bloody amazing, they were all watching the break called "Ours" & everyone's saying - "Nah mate - can't be ridden" & "Your head'll look like a dogs breakfast if your mellon hits the rocks". Then one bloke goes out - gets smashed by a few, makes a few drops, & now they're all out in the lineup.

To be honest I watched the trailer and from that, I would say it could possible represent the misconceptions of surfers that alot of non-surfers hold. That said I am sure there are two sides to every story. Probably one that I am going to pass on. There is enough violence in the news, I don't need to pay money to see it by a bunch of surfers no matter how they justify it.

"Ours" was a body boarders wave until these guys took it over forecefully...they threaten and violate any of them that now go near it. they will rip into your lineup with 3 jetskis, 10 guys and start telling people to go in.....nothing cool about that either
