surf report

Post by khoningford »

We also had a mini-gathering down here in the OC, Scott. Dredging low tide walls with the occasional barrel thrown in with Max, Mike S?, Ed Dimmick and myself. Max got several tubes coming out with the spray on a few of them. Ed got a great set wave with a beyond- vertical takeoff and Mike got his share of good ones. Me, well let's just say it was a goooooood day...

Hey, Jack, how are you feeling? I'm doing well. Just asking since we were the pneumonia twins back in January.

Pneumonia vax is only $25 so I'm lining up soon. Can't afford to miss those winter swells like last year.

Dan,

All's well down here and it's great we're having such a solid summer after missing much of the winter (what there was of it). With an El Nino forecast I'll definitely be loading up on the meds to stay healthy. Hopefully we get bombed with swell and rain.

How's your favorite south-swell reefs up north? Any good sewer peak?

Jack

Hi, Jack. The Point- and most of Santa Cruz- had an unreal May-June: very unusual. Waves were uncrowded at times - since everyone was so surf-out.
Surfed a 6 foot day in front of O'Neill's house (usually longboard territory) and caught one, four section wave all the way the beach next to The Hook. Stoked.

This past South saw one of the biggest crowds on Saturday. I was tied up with a vid shoot so didn't do out until today. Just some small, glassy fun.

I'm betting on the Winter to be a good one. Stuck one of my longboards (9'2" double-wing swallow, single fin) on the used rack at Freeline. Going to turn that into a new 6'0" sleek gun for the bigger days. Ooooo, new toy!

We had a really nice bit of south swell today up here. I caught a
few this morning that were on par with that big south we had a couple
of weeks ago.

Clean, glassy conditions and nice bowly lefts here at the beaches.

Big filthy waves at the local today but neither the board or the balls to take it on... must've been 4x's overhead on the peak and tons of water moving around.

Got an sms earlier from Docturbo saying he was in front of 6ft indicators and getting ready to go in - very heavy wave.

Indon in full swing and another forecast for a few days time :D

Just returned from a quick jaunt to SoCal. Smoke in the air ( (all the way from Santa Monica & on Hyway 101 up the Salinas Valley to Aptos) and flat conditions made dragging around my wife's and my boards an exercise in futility. Didn't even body surf.

Tom, got the new water camera out, will post later. Got Lojis, Karang Sari 2x, and Cimaja, and Karang Aji, too tired for indies. will post later.

where are your shots.

BTW, friend was in Pangandaran, Batu Karas, got skunked as well, too big, too high tide or low tide or too windy. Bali was reported good

Grahame and Farmer Bob coming back from the Island today, hope trades not too strong for them
