Great shot Damo ,although i didnt need a reminder its gratifying to see an international crew remembering ,it s got the hairs standing up on the back of my neck standing up just thinking about the man .Griz great insight to his standing in the surfing community in Balo ,met quite a few people in Bali with P C stories and cant get enough of them ,love sharing my adventures mostly all 70s stuff but some things are never forgotten nor should they
It could see me going beyond my quota of beers as i toast a true surfing genius ,they say the best surfer in the water is the one "having the most fun"more often than not he was both
It would be great to see more pics from those who have them ,i know they are out there
Heres to P C

Dead right Steve,
thats just the tip of the iceberg of PC yarns in Bali and I could rattle off another 50 of them as I often saw him through the 80's & early 90's as we seem to often stay in the same place . You ever bump into Alby Falzon get him to bust a few out as they were like mindgenius with similar approaches to life . I never shared a surf with him though as we seem to keep different schedules .Our paths would cross as I was always on the early , about the same time PC was just gettin in and about to really get after it .
Have you ever seen Alby's movie " Can't Step Twice On The Same Piece Of Water " PC played a large roll in the filming of that , entirely shot in Bali (with a touch of Deserts)
I recall a hole bunch of us gathered on the beach one night at beer o'clock to marvel at PC make numerous passes over us hanging out of an ultralight getting footage of a 5 meter burning efergy for that flick .A mix of dedication and full-on hairy , the pilot was later to face plant the same beach and meet his maker .
The guy never stood still and was always inventing or up to mischief and always 100% entertaining . If it was PC he would start celebrating from now until the 24th .

Great posts guy's,
Steve, I'm sure you've got a million stories about peter, some we can talk about here, and some that we cannot............
I can't lay claim to that pic...........I stole it from the latest Surfing World where it has an interview with Scotty and Justin...Very good read.

And Griz...... I'd bet my Balls, Peter was screaming and cackling all the time.................another classic story.........

It's gotten people to remember, and that's all I wanted to do...........

Coming up to another anniversary of his passing ... vale PC ... what a wonderfully unusual creature he was.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand.
While imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

Albert Einstein ... Yeah Bert.

Damo ,Griz and kneelos on and off the planet ,i cant share my beer coz im sharing em with P C but i can share something Peter once told me that i believe is true and those that know would do too
He told me that you must surf Desert Point before you die ,why i say and then he tells me the story of getting a 27second tube that blew him away so he writes about it on the board he rode and gives it to the owner of a bar in Bali somewhere
What bar im not sure im trying to remember the year .Peter as he often did wondered into the fire station up the road from where he got his photos processed i happened to be there he showed me so many fantastic stills of surfspots he d explored with a surf travel company at the time no longer operating ,how many breaks they were first to surf defies imagination but who better than the man who opened the door for us all
Hey whos shout the beers are out .ahh ive been saving the Cawan Mas for just such an occasion
11pm Bali time would have been 1am here ? 10 years ago
