Jim, up K-man's way the water has been about 48 degrees lately, buoy report has SC at a toasty 52, bundle up.

Surf up here in Humboldt the waves were about 3-5 on the face and glassy water was Fn Cold I would say 47 degrees

Wesly show up to share a few fun peaks

we surf for two hours befor my shoulder gave out , just getting over rotater cuff tear

Crap waist high with 25-30mph offshore winds. Super nice lightning storm came through with rain, just watched the whole beach empty.

Only one other guy out, and we were laying low for about 15 minutes. Priceless.

Actually found a spot that seemed to be the only spot picking up the So. hemi. Eventually alot of other guys figured that out too!
This is why the early bird gets the worm. I was the first out!
The water was so cold I actually cut short my session, (and I wear gloves, hood, and booties , 4/3!)
Someone I trust alot said it was BELOW 50 out there!

I was thinking\dreaming of the boys in Nica sweatin' and scorin'!

Sigh.. Time to start driving again for surf. Was one of the best winters in SB with all the points and reefs lit up often.

Tarantulas had some 2-3ft surf with good punch this past weekend on the south swell.

Getting a couple days head high surf this week in OC, MD. Hatteras should be good also. I heard yesterday was good, but the surf report said blown out.

We've got a storm out there-sub tropical, extra tropical, warm core, cold core (The weather guys can't quite name it). Any way you call it, its a gale and it's pumping some nice juice into the Eastern Seaboard. I got some solid long period groundswell today! What's really cool for us is that it's retrograding, moving back west against the jet stream, which is rare for Atlantic storms.

Not sure where the mid-town cam is, but I was the only guy out at 48th, probably because an hour after I got out, wind turned to about 25mph straight out of the north. Current blowing me north, wind blowing me south, I was floating around like a jellyfish.
