I feel like I can relate with you on this one CJ.
I took about a 9 year detour in my life (2 years in Texas & 7 years in Sacramento) where surfing just was no longer a part of my life with the end goal of securing the future possibility of placing myself in the position to be able to move to the coast with the experience needed to land the job and the finances to buy a house.
It is worth it now, but there were some doubtful days fer sure.
The joy of finally being released from inland prison is incredible.
I hear the sound of freedom! I hope it all works out as you planned!
Get wet!

Good on ya CJ, it's great to be able to surf w/o it turning into a driving expedition , what kind of work do you do anyway ?
Kneeboarding since 1976; always searching for the ultimate sled, always in awe and grateful for the work of master craftsmen, Romanosky, Frye, Cleary, Mc Cray, Timpone, Ballestar, Minami, Hart.

Same here - 6 years in Washington DC for me. Goal achieved, I'll never do it again.alfredo zavala wrote:I feel like I can relate with you on this one CJ.

Hey Landlocked,
I feel ya, bro. Don't give up the good fight. I only get to surf a few times a year (!), but I get to retire with a full pension in 4 years (and I'll only be 50). Looking forward to getting out of Tejas to my little piece of heaven on the beach in the PacNW that I've paid off over the years.
Like CJ---if ya want it bad enough, you'll make it happen.
BTW...is Hurricane Danielle gonna bring anything to the Gulf? If so, you should get on it.

"So if you want to kneeboard, find the hollowest waves you can, ride as short of a board as possible and go fast and deep. If you want to slip and slide, twist and jerk, go for air then stand up and do it. Let’s keep kneeboarding sacred."
