Availability of boards on Oahu?

I'm going to be on Oahu, North Shore and town, for the last 10 days of November. I'm trying to avoid getting gouged by the airlines - anybody know if there is any hook up to rent or trade for a board in HI? Many thanks!

Asolmssen, Check out the forum about the world wide kneeboard bank on this site. I went to Oahu in December of 2008, I wanted to avoid the high cost of the fees to bring a board with me too. I ended up going all over Oahu looking for a kneeboard! Surf shops were showing me everything from those Costco foam boards to belly boards. I ended up at Hans Hedemanns shop with a retro fish board that was the closest to a kneeboard. It worked but it could have been another inch wider, would have worked better. Check it out you'll have a better chance then I did.

Go to Forums, click on Travels, scroll down to Worldwide kneeboard bank and read the 6 or so pages, there is someone in Hawaii that will be happy to loan you a board!

Have you tried getting a hold of Buddy McCray (Bud) from here on the site?
