Again ! Geez it's getting like there are kneelo's everywhere ! Was down at Island Surfboards on Monday and they've managed to sell most of the second hand knee-boards. Apparently they sat there for ages then all of sudden all gone. Next thing you know there will be Kneelo Clubs springing up !

Congrats Steeno always a buzz to see your pics..

Great, Steenos. That's the sort of article and pics Surfline should have run. BYW, did they ever run anything--if so, I missed it. Seems one of their reporters was phoning around trying to get a story near the end of the contest. He was pointed to contact the contest organizers with appropriate emails.

Thanks, Joe. I missed that story. BTW, lots of detail, but kind of a proctologist's view: just dark facts, not a lot of bright color. And no photos!

The "editorial" .......
"I surf stand-up and I've never had an urge to do it any other way. I guess in some people's mind my limited interest in other surfcraft ruins my chance of ever being a 'waterman'. Yawn....so be it.

But in recent times I've developed an interest in kneelos. Not that I've taken the plunge just yet, but my curiousity has certainly been piqued. And it all started with the shots that Steen Barnes started sending in. For the first time ever I've actually appreciated what kneelos can do.

In some ways they are the perfect vehicle for the short and sucky reefbreaks so common on our coast. They're easier to make late drops then ungainly stand-ups, and you can still use your body to drive into turns, unlike our lid-riding brethren. Best of both worlds really.

Yeah, think I might look into this kneeboarding malarky. Waterman status is within my grasp yet. //STUART NETTLE

8) 8) Congrats all 'round, you guys are doing the sport proud, a small grudging amount of respect from the mainstream - two of our better bretheren surfers being photographed by a similar surfer and photographer, what better way to get recognition for what we on this site already know - kneelos are different, in many ways a superior craft for the ultimate experience in riding a wave (be it taking off late, tube riding, G force turns....whatever floats your boat) - 8) 8)
 And we've been classed as a better style of surfing than a frothy lid rider  officially 8) 8) I'll have to rush home and tell the missus, and possibly look for a wave while I'm driving there....

Cheers Wolruss

Loved the honesty in the editorial.

Just shows how when one person with great kneelo pics hits the same venue multiple times, others start to sit up and take notice.

Thanks, Steenos!
