No Brad, no-one's offered me a go yet. But I was being fair dinkum in that piece, I am keen to give it a shot (at the moment I've got a busted eardrum with an associated infection so it won't be anytime soon).southpeakbrad wrote: Has anybody offered Stuart a go yet?
I've been aware of Steen and the Gong mob for a while. They seem to have a good energy going and Steen, with his amazing photography, puts up a damn fine argument for kneeboarding.
Also, Gav Coleman comes from my hometown (and Matt Gallagher too, not sure how well-known he is...) so I see them out on their kneelos and I've been paying attention for a while. We've also got a few reefs around Cronulla that seem well-suited to kneelos: Cape Solander, Shark Island et al.
I'm actually a little perplexed that I don't see more kneelos out at these waves, and also at other slabs that are regularly getting ridden around Australia. Is it that there aren't enough kneelos out there, or that the surf industry pays no attention? Whatever it is, from an outsiders perspective it feels like there's a bit of a push going on. Perhaps it won't be long till there's a bit of momentum and kneelos are pushing the limits at those waves and demanding attention.
Personally I reckon it'd be a great thing to see.
Whatever happens it looks like you fellas have got a good little community going here and that's heartening to see. Hopefully you're all getting your fill of hollow ones.
