No Brad, no-one's offered me a go yet. But I was being fair dinkum in that piece, I am keen to give it a shot (at the moment I've got a busted eardrum with an associated infection so it won't be anytime soon).

I've been aware of Steen and the Gong mob for a while. They seem to have a good energy going and Steen, with his amazing photography, puts up a damn fine argument for kneeboarding.

Also, Gav Coleman comes from my hometown (and Matt Gallagher too, not sure how well-known he is...) so I see them out on their kneelos and I've been paying attention for a while. We've also got a few reefs around Cronulla that seem well-suited to kneelos: Cape Solander, Shark Island et al.

I'm actually a little perplexed that I don't see more kneelos out at these waves, and also at other slabs that are regularly getting ridden around Australia. Is it that there aren't enough kneelos out there, or that the surf industry pays no attention? Whatever it is, from an outsiders perspective it feels like there's a bit of a push going on. Perhaps it won't be long till there's a bit of momentum and kneelos are pushing the limits at those waves and demanding attention.

Personally I reckon it'd be a great thing to see.

Whatever happens it looks like you fellas have got a good little community going here and that's heartening to see. Hopefully you're all getting your fill of hollow ones.

Beautiful work Steen, again.

Randiego's spot on about that first shot. Definitely a keeper.

BTW, when is this site gonna see some new video from you?

Steens,

Another amazing article, great idea and super pics to back it up! I immediately sent the link to three stand up buddies I surf with a lot--they'll really love it as it helps them see kneeboarding in a wider light.

With your regular contributions, Swellnet is almost becoming another kneelo mag and generating a lot of respect.

Made the swellnet report again this morning. This is my second pic, got one last year as well. My wettie, rashie and flippers come from the photographers shop...so I guess its not what but who :D

Anyway, he is a bit of a surf historian and once upon a time kneelo so there is some sympathy.

Report changes saturday morn around 7am local time... until next year!!!
