Hey, Headwax - References to Jackson Browne lyrics? Good quote. I would have been worried, though, if you would have started quoting "Rosie"..........

Cronulla was fun this am. 3-4 foot at the wall . I hit it early enough to avoid a big crowd and got some nice little waves.
Great way to start the day.

Check out bouyweather.com at http://buoy.ocens.net/wxnav.jsp?region= ... 10&units=e

Sunday and Monday big southerly swell.
The only bad surfing day is one where you don't.

I drove down to the Big Sur area yesterday to serve as a lifeguard at our Boy Scout camp and, boy, was the ocean flat. Monestary Beach was ripple-less and Garrapata Beach was a lake-like.

Its difficult for me to drag my KB out in the summer when its so small. Bring on the Fall!

A small but surfable WSW swell persistis out here.
Better than predicted but VERY small.
I'm too busy to get out there and it's fairly inconsistent.
Almost rushed Sunset Point this AM. It was absolutely perfect 2-3' faces...just peeling off like a dream. Not a cloud in the sky and super clean water. But there were 3 little neighborhood groms (6-8' years old) going at it and I didn't want to spoil their fun. They were having a ball and it was great fun just watching them as I stretched out to wake up.
There wasn't really enough to go around, with 5 minute lulls and 3-4 wave sets.

Saw a big flock of Golden Plovers fly low and fast over the water a month ago. They spend summer in Alaska and winter here.
They are back here VERY early this year.
Going to be an early winter.....for sure!
With an El Nino predicted it could be an eceptional year.

I'm building a lot of small wave boards for people right now......I suggest those of you that are serious surfers contact your prefered shaper and order guns.

4th day in a row.
Managed to surf 2 of them.
Water's cold, so not many out (6 for my 2 hour sesh yesterday)
This is what we sometimes get for the Phillip Island Classic, but the water warms up by then

Mornin,

Someone said, there is no normal weather up this side, just averages over the years that make it appear tob be normal.
Very odd summer in terms of surf.quite a few really small swells that were rideable. There are at least a handfull of spots that will focus any swell direction, and any wind direction, and will be rideable from minus tide to fairly high.Necessity being the mother of invention,I've several boards that will catch minnies+.Why bother? Why not? :) Anticipation of what lies around the corner after an 40 min walk is part of of any surf trip. No?

Cheers

Nice pic red,Got afew spots up here that do that kind of thing-crowd looks just about right...And don't be BBQing too many of those littlte blues!
