Bloody hell, 400 miles later, and I only got two hours of surf in at Sandy Hook, NJ. It's the last spot on my list of east coast places to surf, and finally did it. Surf was waist, then got to chest high, long right's off the rocks at the curving cove. Then the side/onshore wind hit it at 25mph, and it developed a side current of about 10-15 mph.
The report changed for the next day, so it was a one day trip. Film pics to follow.

OK..the surf was marginal...What about the clam chowder?-red-white?with them little salty crackers.. About one of the only things I miss about the east coast.
Surf here's been consistent.Bars in town are honed.Unfortunately it's ranging from waist to chest for the past few weeks.Reefs have been blown out.Springtime is here...
Anything down towards cruz?been groveling around the cam sights.Lane looked rideable a few days ago,and not too crowded.
Calling for OS in a few days,be nice to get a bit of size
Mr K, long range forecast for saturday looks good with both northwest and southwest swells. Probably only be you, me and 50 or 60 of our closest friends out there, oh yea, and Walter.
walter!... shoots!Anyways, the other side of the channel has got the kine right bar. Can't see it from the beach. If it ever gets to head high or better it'll be ''smokin''.Also 10 houses from the tip of the drift has a classic left. We''ll team up and torture the sup's... No mercy!!None of them pricks can surf.......no cutbacks... can't kick out, fall off the back of the board,scarey..
Forgot to mention, the landlord's been around.......Small one....
K-Man - If its clam chowder (white ) you be cravin', Jon and Nora Manss make killer chowder.
When our kids were in pre-school we would take them to minus-tide Pleasure Point and have the kids dig up some little clams (no license requires if under 16 y/o). We'd go home, throw the kids in a hot bath and we'd make chowder. Yum!
K, I assume the landlord is always around, as for the SUPers, nobody I would rather torture. I am however working on the hypthesis that riding an SUP causes deafness. Have ridden that left a few times but havn't seen it working for a long time, see you there.
One of my pet peeves. I may bring this up at my club meeting (Santa Cruz Surfing Club Preservation Society) and that we make a public stand.
It would be a public safety issue.

Florida report-buoy 8' @ 14 seconds! Met Man-O-War and his son Luke for a surf this morning. Luke was on a Blast with no fins (Good boy), M-O-W had some big drops and long lines on his spoon and I got a few on my FP.
Sideshore wind made for some chop, but it was nice to get some true groundswell for a change.
heres a vid from my last kneelo session earlier this month....
taken by the mat guru after we got out so no kneelo/mat shots but it does show the lefts that were basically made for high performance mat riding and the rights which i liken to the Box in oz...
PR must be getting another nice swell out of this low sitting off the east coast. I was stuck in a five hour, non stop meeting all morning. Post some photos , please Frencho.....I'll pretend I'm working at my computer

Been some weak windswell around the past few days, caught Silver Strand really good on the south swells last week. Great lefts off the jetty kinda reminded me of wedge but a lot slower
Hoping some NW swell kicks in this next week, this has been a very weak winter for Santa Barbara
