G'day AB, good to see another interested party. Broken Head does get a crowd depending on the time of year etc; I was just thinking out loud (reminder to myself, stop talking to yourself.....mumble mumble).
The origional idea was to hold a gathering some time next year; after the silly season. It has also been suggested that we organise a get together a bit sooner than this, to see how things go. I'm up for that one too, and must admit that I have also been thinking of the Tweed back beaches as a likely venue. Especialy now that we have a spy in their midsts. The crowds are definitely thinner down that way, and there is ample parking, although we would need to bring the NO STANDING signs. ....Sorry could'nt resist.
Looks like I will be away in the first week of November, so either Sunday the 9th, 16th or 23rd seem OK at this stage. Anyone else available around these dates? If not feel free to throw in your two bobs worth.
Bye for now.

womble, i wouldn't class myself as a spy i don't get paid enough & i've never
been slick with the chicks but i can provide fast & accurate surf reports, the beach is very close, so anytime suits me even during the week can be arranged with little planning. [I don't like to work too much ] it's crap today though AB

Thats classic AB.

As I'm a blow in and only been on the coast for 13 years I know nothing of the old club scene, but am interested to find out more at some stage.

As for planning a bit of a get together; with the 9th being pretty close and the PI contest on the 16th, why don't we shoot for the 23rd of November. That will give anyone interested time to organise things. Again I'm thinking out loud here so any other opinions are more than welcome. 9th?.....16th?.....23rd?
We are getting close to Christmas, so if its all to hard at this time of year we can always wait till next year, better late than never.
All things being equal, I am definitely with AB on choice of venue.
The option of a less crowded break and a more laid back atmosphere is far more appealing than surfing up this way.
Anyway with the new bypass it takes sweet F A to get there anyway.

Hey RM would that make the rest of us Kneeanderthals or kneeolithic?
Gives the whole idea of a club scene a different take.
Grunt grunt...............................................................
Back to you.

It's not just QLD. They seem to like chasin' cars thru the Citylink Tunnels and down the Freeways around here too. Plenty of times I've looked in mirror and thought ''somesone put chrome bars on my rear window only to find out it's some truckie who's not happy about only 80 kmh in an 80 kph zone
I live in my own little world, But it's OK they know me there.

23rd looks like the go then.
Somewhere on the Tweed back beaches.
We can choose the exact location later; obviously with AB's vast knowledge, fine judgment and good advice.

Hey JD are you out there?

I'm heading to Fremantle on Monday.
(its work RM, but the Margaret River reds will get a workout; their whites aren't to shabby either).
I'll only be gone for a week.
(actually RM the foods pretty grouse over there as well)
Amazingly they do have the internet over there so I'll be able to stay in touch.
(hey RM the girls are quite pretty over there too)
Anyway while you blokes are all relaxing over here and having a great time, have a bit of sympathy for me as I slave away over a warm crayfish, chilled white wine and a hot brunette.
To be honest one of those things just isn't going to happen
(well 2 out of 3 ain't bad)
Unfortunately its not crayfish season at the moment.
(actually my wife just informed me that for health reasons (my own) its not brunette season over there either)
(oh well 1 out of 3 ain't bad)

Looking forward to the 23rd, should be a bit of fun.
Catch ya later.

Lucky the waves are going to be crap for the rest of the week, and I'm going away next week.
The doctor has beached me for almost two weeks.
As you Kiwis would say "I'm beached aye bro, totaly beached bro".
In kneeboard speak " He cut a nice SLAB out of my back yesterday"
A bit of the good old Spanish Dancer, or Sun Dancer in this case.
Oh well. 8)
A new way to loose a bit of excess skin, the next weight loss fad?
Don't think so. Ouch.

Hey enzobgonzo you must be suppressing some dark kneeboard memories.
Maybe a bit of therapy would be the answer.
On the 23rd November there is a meeting of the Kneeolithic Kneeanderthal Support Group. Maybe they can help.
Then again that rash may only get worse.
And the stststststuttering aannnd ththat.
I'm going now the nurse says I need to rest.
