* UPDATE *
10:10 am. Hawaii time.
All coastline roads are closed. Waikiki, all tourists either evaced or on 3rd floor of hotels. All small boats out of harbors. Hilo airport closed. Civil defense going to fill reservoirs, public told to refrain from using water so as not to stress the sewage system. Longs in Ewa beach, closed. Cheapest beer in town News stations are covering every minute detail. I'm pouring Bloody Mary mix into my 1st beer

klaxon
Been watching our BOM site through the night. We had a tsunami warning current for Queensland but that's now been cancelled. NSW warning is still current. Don't have any boats to secure so will probably be going out for breakfast with the missus and the young feller soon. There's a comfortable cafe by the river where we can sit, sip and watch the water rise.
BOM advises people should stay away from the beach today. I reckon that's fantastic advice and they ought to issue it every day.
Would post more but it's time for me to stress the sewage system.

I dunno.
It's coming.
It's not.
Head for the hills.
Relax.
Tie up your megayacht.
Go back to bed.

The safest thing to do would be to take your yacht way out, you would never feel it. Also you would have shrimp for the barby right below.RMcKnee wrote: Relax.

Went down to the Cove and enjoyed a nice coffee in the rain - just me and the pelicans. I saw nothing, but the lifeguards were quoted in the paper as having seen a "very quick tidal change".
Rooster - hope the neighbors haven't raided your beer supply.
