Blacks Beach is named for the Black's family who owned/own? it (I think they gave it to the city of SD) from the mushroom house (is that still there?) to the frist point north of the main peak..... I believe I got all that right.... 8)

Bingtang, you are correct sir. 8) His title was Admiral Black, served in the 1st world war, and yes the mushroom house is still there :D Only difference is, they built a seawall around the base for erosion purposes.

That friend of mine I said lived down your way, his name is Bob Gove, he said he knew you. 8)
take care

Scott M. You were right to look for the maroon truck this a.m. at Scotts. But I went instead with Mike Neil in his mini-van and decided to forego Scotts and walk in to a reef opposite the direction you went. We scored, to put it bluntly! Soooooo many tubes, either making them or getting smacked into oblivion. Glassy, warm, and spitting. Just Mike and I for an hour or so, then another two really mellow standups joined us, all cheering each other on--just the way surfing should be!

I'm sure Rims was fun, too.

ITS 4-6' WITH SWELL FROM THE SW AND WNW should be lots of fun today if the wind doesnt pick up. I heard something to the affect as we will be in another santa ana/off-shore condition soon! 8) bad for fires good for surfing

There were fun shoulder high waves at inside Dominators this morning. Not huge, but super fun and 1 other guy out. What's left of the boat was covered by the tide this morning.

HB has been firing! I say firing! and it was good again today. Tom Backer and I scored some glassy, hollow 4-6ft peaky hollow lines at Huntington St. It looked like those pictures of Hossegor or Birratz or something! This is the time OC really fires. Oct-Nov seems to always be good.!
