Hurricane Jeanne spared my family and home! More fencing blown over, one small water stain and lots of clean up outside. If Bush wants to see "Shock and Awe", he only needs to visit Florida.

Surf twice today.
Been a very long time since that happened.
6' N X NNW swell, bigger than predicted and with all the recent surf island wide, very few people around.
Sunset from 9:30am till 11:30am. maybe 15 people out.
Roping from Boneyards to the channel as the tide came in, with some real thick, trenching, inside bowl sections.
Laniakea with Mike McGuire for the late afternoon.
Steaking 6' freight train rights....TOO........ MUCH........ FUN!
Trades winds are light, water's nearly 80F.
Really nice to ride one of my bigger boards again.
My 2 year old, 6' F2K was smokin!
Winter's started.
6 more months of pumping surf.........
YEA! no place on Earth like the North Shore.

It was 4-5 foot yesterday but with a super high tide around mid day. I did the coastal tour from The Lane down to Pleasuer Point. Big rollers that weren't really breaking until they hit shore.
I saw a set peel off The Harbor jaxs just as a 60 foot power boat decided to try and make it; they almost took a wave over the stern. Looks like they didn't do a very good job dredging this year.......The Harbor should be breakng ahead of schedule this winter.
My ear is still plugged so no water time today.........but you all should hit it.

Yesterday
Got to surf Pupukea yesterday. Solid 3-5 with some occasional 6 footers. The wind was straight sideshore with some early winter slight backwash conditions, really fun. It was nice to surf something with power after a lousy Hawaiian summer. From the shore it looked crowded (25 guys?) but there was only about 5 guys taking off on the sets. Score city! I must have jumped in after Ray Ebaugh left, nice to know we're doing shifts and representing. With this post-good-surf euporia still lingering I can honestly say there really is nothing like the North Shore.

The swell predicted for later this week is starting to show.
After over 2 weeks of NNW swell ranging from 2-15' faces there's a stronger WNW taking over. It's still small but there's more energy.
Conditions are superb.
Light Easterly offshore winds are grooming 3-4' peaks at most spots. Water is 80F air temps 95F. (The shaping room's nice and cold. Another glass of water and I'm back to it.)
As soon as I finish the last of 4 boards shaped today........I'm on it!

It's been a nice streak up here. Three fun days so far, with two more in the forecast. Lots of tubes!
