Seems like a guy just killed a 200lb White shark he mistook as a Mako at the mouth of the Delaware Bay. Could be fined $10-15k for killing a protected species. That's uncomfortably close to Cape May, and Indian River Inlet. Not sure where the buoy is. I wonder where momma is

Mike, This isn't really shark stuff, but the Fish and Game Dept. here in San Diego are investigating a Black Sea Bass, an endangered species, was found off of Marine St. in La Jolla with a spear from a spear gun, by lifeguards. The fish is a docile and curious, it probably swam up to the diver to check him or her out and got speared. Since it died, they are facing a serious fine.________Mark R.

Mark reminds me of when my friend's dad drove us to SCUBA dive in Laguna when I was 14. I had a double rubber speargun, and I shot a huge lobster right between the eyes from 3 ft.  8) Man did my friends dad chew me out when I brought that sucker ashore. But I kept it and had a great dinner.

reminds me of the time we went down to mexico and speered a couple Garabaldi fish (california state fish, protected in CA) not because they would taste good but because we could :P they tasted ok, but there were far better tasting fish available so we only shot a couple of the garabaldi's
