Other matters ...
Base surfboards have gone ... overwhelming debt cited as the cause.
Asian imports and the ever increasing cost to manufacture onshore will drive the local surfboard industry back underground.
Simon Anderson was one of the major labels associated with Base ... the company also involved Murray Bourton and Darren Handley ... all big names.
Somewhere between thirty and fifty employees out of work. All with bills to pay ... mortgages and such. Its been reported that at this time some of their entitlements have not been paid.
Painful for all involved.
But theres a shop just down the road selling imported surfboards for $250 ... new not secondhand ... thats right new for two fifty.
Pretty sad.
What can I do about it ... nothing at the moment ... think I'll go surfing ... after that I've got two test matches to watch ... go you good thing.

Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand.
While imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.
Albert Einstein ... Yeah Bert.

What ... its not Christmas already all ready
They say time flies, but thats not quite true, it absolutely rockets
Days slip by faster than coins through holes in pockets
So here we are with another year gone, and christmas on the way
Shaking hands, patting backs and saying what we have to say
Its a merry christmas here, followed with a happy new year
Thats Christmas in Australia, aye.
Around the old barbecue stands red, sheila, curly and blue
The other bloke is still on his way
You know him for sure, youse all met him last year
He's that old codger who drives the sleigh
Its red, got two doors, with four on the floor
A v-eight reindeer powered coupe
He loads up the boot with all kind of loot
Merrily distributing along the way
Just once a year, giving gifts, goodwill and cheer
For scant remuneration or pay
Some milk, bickies and beer, the odd whiskey here
And some carrots to fuel up the sleigh
He's fair-dinkum that bloke. straight up, no joke
He's the grouse, he's a cobber, me mate
A hard working fella, he don't shirk, he ain't yellow
I think its him I can hear at the gate
We'll go-n-greet-him-ok, help unload the sleigh
If ya give-us-a-hand that'd be beaut
Blow me down boys, just listen to that noise
Santa's gone and bought a bloody new ute.
Happy Bloody Christmas Ya Bunch Of Boof Heads.
The Crazies wish you all have a happy and safe festive season ... yeooow.

Womble
Best laugh I've had in ages...and I've only read page 1 and 24...
I'm a 40yo cripple (26 years experience) in the Novo club down Newcastle way. How are things up north? Shitty today from what I've seen! Yep, I travel up and down the east coast a bit, always with a cripple stick in the ute!
If you blokes are having a gathering etc, post it, and I'll try to be there! Always good to surf with other blokes who can't (refuse to) stand up!!!
I love the red wine analogy! Bit of a victim myself...and guess what you win in the Novo comps...?

Hi Tinso,
the Pa Bendall (in Caloundra) is always a good comp and way to catch up and compete with other like minded gentlemen who knows AB might be there too.
Cheers,
Byron

Cheers Guys
I'll post on here next time I'm heading up that way.
Comp sounds good, as I'm hitting them all for the next two years in view of attending the World Titles in Tahiti(?) at the end of 2013. Don't expect to win anything, but just want to have the experience of competing!
When you want to organise something, don't ask for opinions, as you'll never keep everyone happy. Set a date, time, and place, and just post it up here. Those that really want to be there, will get there somehow!
Our club (the Novo's in Newcastle) is good that way. First Sunday of the month at 7am. And it's not about winning or losing, more about how much you drink after the game...

good east swell
Good size east swell coming in from below New Caledonia for the end of this week through the weekend. Coming off a low thats been hovering around Vanuatu for the past week so it should be a good clean swell too. Break out ya guns, with a bit of luck the beachies might be an option.
go to AusNZ top far right then drop down "forcast" to animation then "display"
