Old crazy just loves getting legless … and during this past week he's been happier than a pig in pooh … just to clarify … that has nothing to do with Piglet or Winnie … who he assures us are just good friends … mind you the donkey seems constantly stoned and the orange and black striped cat is a walk up start for a paranoid delusional crack head.
Corduroy … what a wonderfully understated fabric it is … Old Crazy still dons the purple flared chords on special occasions … and over the past few days he's been sporting them constantly … what with the legless corduroy seppopotonian surfing world cup of overflowing bellies in rashies … its been the grouse … hey even a spaniard got a gong … happy daze.
So volume 21 number 1 has a front cover … corduroy a week … if only four days … it seems as though jimmy's not the only barnes in town … and water slaughter has risen like a phoenix from the hashish … whats the world coming to … forget about global warming … this is a catastrophe.
Just as Winnie's ample girth was eventually freed from the tree … it seems as though the underground is now above ground … night of the living dead … the sculkers have been caught in the spotlight … momentarily blinded and confused … unaccustomed to the light they sway uneasily from side to side … muttering incoherently … rubbing their eyes and awaiting whatever fate has install for them.
Old Crazy is used to this … the swaying and muttering come naturally … as does the confusion … he knows that the crowd will eventually dissipate … as spotlights slowly dim … the ordinary people will return to their ordinary lives … and the strange halfmen will fade from their memory. The universe may return to normal … but the kneeboard militia … having been briefly exposed to the world at large … will once again slide into obscenity … and be free once more to plan and plot its path to world domination … insert evil laughter.

Roll up roll up the circus is in town … slap some butter on your popping corns and pull up a pew … theres plenty of clowns and trained monkeys on show … but the real action is going down backstage … if you dare to sneak a peek … bean counting is the name of that game … frantic fiscal juggling … rhythmic finger pointing finessed with eye rolls and synchronised head scratching … thats right learned colostomies … its pro-surfing 101 or 2012 as the fact may be … financial mismanagement with a shotgun … side of a barn missed and all.
Forget about the new schools air-reverses … its all eyes on the old school … as they bumble and mumble and try to hang on. Poor old Gordon … loves his bong … unfortunately theres more sharks on dry land than ever was in the sea … if you know what I mean.
Old Crazy loves the bong too … not so much the bills … but its not bongs snapper … its the quickie show … starring old baldy and the gang … even Dane the messiah Reynolds … the disputably undisputed king of swing and all things hipster … descended from the land of three minute youtube clips … to … well to be banished unceremoniously in the first round losers round of two … yes the second set of heats that is … back to beat poetry and dumpster diving.
The dream tours looking a bit ragged … rough round the edges so to speak … like a transexual crack whore with a hangover and a three day growth … you see the big three … yep quikripabong … have got gaping great holes in their pockets … draining the hard earned faster than they can print it.
The undisputed king of all things mumbling incoherently … Old Crazy … reckons the answer to the question not asked is … who gives a flying fig … pickle me grandmother he said … you expect me to feel sorry … sorry for what … sorry for the millions of clams that the founders of these institutions have secreted in jam jars buried in the finely manicured back yards of their salubrious beach side villas … yes thats plural … as in more than one … and no … no he won't and no he doesn't is the answer … phew.
The chinese like to say … may you live in interesting times … Old Crazy has duly noted they also seem to own most of the chinese restaurants in town … short soup anybody. Interesting times is what we got … as the surf industry giants tighten the belts … restructure … and rebuild their respective houses of straw … sticks and bricks before the big bad wolf huffs and puffs the doors down … fairytale or nightmare … just how will the three little pigs fare … roast porker or devine swine … its not all goodvibes captain … pass the crackling astro … oink oink snort.
Speaking of cooking … we've got ourselves a fish fry in the alley here tomorrow … Old Crazys ironing his galoshes and polishing the macintosh as we speak … no not the mac as in apple … the mac as in tosh … raincoat per se … in preparation for the shindig … seeing as its a bit wet under foot … and that should suit the swamp dweller just fine if he decides to skulk up with a few natives in tow.
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand.
While imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

Rain … rain … rain and more rain … its been raining cats and dogs for days on the cold toast. Only yesterday Old Crazy popped outside for the briefest of moments and stepped in a poodle … but this preposterous precipitation hasn't dampened his spirits … on the cointreau and on the contrary … our resident lunatic has been wallowing like a water buffalo with a new suit ... a box of Cuban cigars … a winning lottery ticket stuck in his hatband and a smile so wide you'd think he'd finally thrown a leg over Elle MacPherson … which he kind of has … but … lets just say that he was on his own at the time … ninety nine change hands.
So … happy has Old Crazy been … yes its been wetter than behind his own ears … wet as an otter as they say … but on the upside there has been a combination of weather patterns that in the act of merging have created some truly miraculously marvellous surging mountains of sodium chloride solution … pulsating past the points of no return … barrelling buckets of old briny … rampantly yet orderly dishevelment of the elements that are predominantly NaCl in the H20 … yes sports fans we's had surf here in the land of broken dreams … a good couple of weeks of the welcome wetness.
There is a slight downside to the upside … population explosion … like lemmings to a cliff they come … night of the living dead-like shuffling forth in multitude … brains … brains … brains … but collectively these zombies have none ... a heaving mass of confusion and self delusion … a collaboration of chaos in black neoprene. Zombie like they mass … hunting not in unison … but as a pack of individuals … a rabble … scratching and clawing … scrambling for scraps … dog eat dog … woof … just passing thought I'd drop in … reigning cats and dogs indeed hipsters.

I dunno ... you just have to pick your time. Dawn patrol was pretty good today from Snapper through to Big Groyne. OH sets, not a zombie in sight, no serious wave thievery and comfortable in shorts and a rashie. Did I mention barrels? No? Well never mind.

That other place ... the one that starts with a K ... next stop on the line after X ... has been trying really hard ... and on occasions succeeding ... its to fast for zombies.
