Syd.
Been best at med ebb,the bottom of the tide has been hellacoius.Berm angle is real steep so the b. wash is something else.Pretty good on the upcoming also.bigger s. swells seem to work better at lower tides at the point.these little mixed swells are at best fun.
Good tip on the cave, will check it out,it's an interesting area.

we've had 3 + weeks of 3 - 6' easterly swell, classic uncrowded A frame shacks on all the beachies and long peelers on all the points but you need to take a ticket to get a wave there. Water temp 22-23c air temp the sameish. This morning dropped from 5 -6' sat & sun to 3 -4' straight out front of my place at currumbin. Looking good for the rest of the week at 3'. Good time of year. Have a good anzac day. AB
once you've had black you'll never go back!!!

Bit of video from Newcastle today

Lack of crowds early on a public holiday a real mystery.

6 to 8 ft waves here in the morning and off shore EPIC!!!!!!! drove along the coast road just before dark and it was building fast
Bells and winki will be photo oppotunity hot
im thinking point impossible for myself...little less kick but still in the epic zone...6.45 am paddle out to beat the stronger winds...probably wake up every 30 minutes to check the clock
more tomorrow night with luck

merely labled
I was pretty bummed about missing out on Mexico. I heard from Jack that DMJs was fun, and that he heard from Bob G. that Rosarito was good on Saturday.
While work wasn't too fun, at least we had some rare good Springtime conditions here.
I think Don surfed 5x last week, ending Sunday. I got out 4x. Almost always dawn patrol. Water was cold starting the week, but warmed each day.
Sharkbait was out there, 1x stand-up on a fish... next time kneelo-ing.
There was another kneelo out as well... didn't catch a name.
That was an actual stretch of surf! That day, in particular, had lots of tube sections, ramps, and so on to keep it fun. This season will just not stop. That said, I've probably just doomed it!
Hope you're getting some down there, John! Those big windswells will send me right down to your beachbreaks... soon!

Well guess what, the goldy's cranking again. Swell has built from 2-3' this morning to 4-5' as i type, 3.45 pm the alley is so perfect [ except for the crew] not a breath of wind. Swells looks a little too south for the beachies but there are some pits to be had just gotta find the right bank. With a low developing o/night tomorrow should be all time - bigger & better.
If your reading this & live anywhere near the G.C. or Northern NSW coast
ditch work tomorrow & hit it, or your gonna kick yourself big time.
I think the tweed coast could be the call for tomorrow thats where i'm heading. See ya AB
