Spoke to Don after a mid-beach surf.
Conditions: glassy, lumpy, well-OH
Closure status: The whole beach is closed again. Patrols going up and down giving citations.
They waited until the patrol left, then went out.
A few other guys. Water looked OK, 'tasted' OK.
Apparently, the re-closure will last three weeks.

The morning news says all the beaches/reefs up here are open. They closed one reef again late yeasterday saying a crew was working. The sign disappeared and the kids went out.
No work crew,no oil.Swell seems a bit bigger today,on my way out for a check.
This is nothing like what happened around here in 72...That was a bad one.Another bad one in 69 around santa barbara.
cheers

Two months ago I was trunking it, now I will be wearing a 6/4mm this weekend
Air is 45, wind 15-20mph, water is 56. The wind would be too much for a 4/3mm.

It's 11pm, just got home from work, and there is more than an inch of snow on the ground, and the huge snowplow trucks are out
But there probably won't be any snow three hours away from me. Waves are on!

OBX Fun
Just finished up a three hour session in Nags Head, North Carolina. I surfed with my dad and two of my three brothers. The waves were about head high and very peaky and hollow. Lots of tubes for everyone. There should be waves all week... and I thought I would miss surf by heading home for Thanksgiving.
If I say its safe to surf this beach Captain, then its safe to surf this beach. I mean I'm not afraid to surf this place, I'll surf this whole f@cking place!
