Red, don't worry we hack our best friends to shreads on a regular basis. Jack took a drubbing for all of his media attention a few months back. No one is immune, if you play you pay. When it's your turn to get roasted just agree with what is being said with a smile;) you know it's all true.

Surfhorn,

Yes I have taken off fins first many times on a KB. Chock it up to summer time boredom when I was about fourteen years old.

How about hanging two?

Hey, cpodom - yeah, it was the slow days of summer. I used to mess around taking off fins forward at Sewer Peak here in Santa Cruz - but it was only 2-3 foot. but its a really nice view of the inside of a barrel.

Can't say what the view was for the poor guys paddling back out, though...
kbing since plywood days

um, standup kneeboarding it just wat it reads, standing up on a kneeboard nothing more nothing less. Its not being a traitor to kneeboarding or anything, just think of standing up as kneeboardings drop knee, its just a second or alternate stance. The lids arent converting wen they dk so why is standing on a kneelo kicking up such a stink?
btw what does oxymoronic mean? it doesnt sound good.

Standing up is saving me from going insane at the moment with my water on the knee, though its made me realise something, all the standing up I do on a kneeboard has made me so used to a superloose board that when I tightened my board up the other day I couldnt turn at all. Also I stand with my feet in the middle of the board, has my kneeboard given me a bad standup style? Or do other guys who 'standup kneeboard' have a similar stance?

Stand up

I do the same thing when I stand up, feet in the middle of the board. Once up and riding I need too adjust. Most time the means I eat it.

Standing in middle is what drew me back to KB after all these years. I was forever standing in the middle and leaning forward and then trying to adjust and eating it.

will soon see what's what as I just had long talk with Alan Blast McCray on the tele and he is about to start shaping my BRAND NEW BLAST STUBB VECTOR!!!!!! :D :D :D I feel a bit like a kid on Christmas eve. Been floundering on a sponge these many months and finally got scratch together. Ready to rock. YEEEE-HAAAA!!!

Ordered a bag from Cleary and pads from Don and and and......pant pant

I was mucking around practising stand up routine in small summer waves with a stand up mate. We were shooting the breeze about largest waves ever caught and so forth. This guy who was out was looking at me sort of incredulously because Im talking decent waves at Bells and along the south, New South Wales coast.

What I failed to realise at the time is that whilst Im a pretty shonky white water rider when I stand up, after 20 or so years kneeboarding Ive got a few stories.

This guy thought I was some dumb arsed hodad talking Bells when I struggle in summer slop.

Failed to mention in his ear shot that my bravado tales are kneeboarder episodes!!!

sometimes mixing drinks leads to embarrasing results

cheers

Thanks for the props, Jack.
:o Course, I don't think I ever beat you! Lord knows I tried...
