Had a fun dawn patrol surf in 2-3 foot glassy conditions last Sunday, at a west coast (of RSA) pointbreak...other early birds were 2 other kneelos and a kid on a bodyboard - no standup's in the water at all !

cheers

Hart where do you surf in Italy?

Which is the best board for the Italian "conditions"?
Caio Duke

Part of my business took me to Pietra Santa in the late 80's..but I didn't intend to surf (I'd come from New York and London) and didn't have my board(s) with me.

But I met some young guys who worked at the Savema Spa (granite and marble) factory..who once they found out that I surfed..dragged me out to somewhere (?) a couple of times (not far from my hotel Il Nigro)..

..and I had to stand-up surf in small conditions :)

PS

I saw some very good looking kneeboards on a French web site..do you know this site?

Duke - enjoyed Italy, Verona a favourite memory - been twice but long ago - as said, ive seen waves hitting the island of Crete that were surfable - like summer waves here!

when Juliana finishes the book she is working on and we are on the world tour to sell the film it has been made into..... - I will get to visit then

But i want to go to Sicily as well - do you watch Inspector Montilbano - the only tv im into!

ah.....sambucca and surfing

On the Central coast of NSW Australia there are quite a number of Kneeboarders. Generally a couple at most lineups. Whenever I travel up or down the coast I find enough Kneelos to indicate there is still a good following. Not too many young guys though. For Dorje I ride a 5'10" Parkes three fin. Goes really well.

Did anyone notice that the site reached 700 members...

I would say that pretty much blows the 500 mark out of the water..

I think there is about 5000 footboarders that secretly want to become kneeboarders
The only bad surfing day is one where you don't.
