I was wondering what the diff between UDT duckfeet and duckfeet were. Out of curiosity because I remember soooo many people posting on here when the molds came back to the US, I looked up UDT duckfeet on google, and lo and behold, you can buy them at a Navy Supply store (among other places) online for about $70. They look pretty tight for bodysurfing or bodyboarding (I guess if the waves were like 20ft, not that I'd ever be out there, but I could keep them in my garage and tell friends that came over that I bodyboarded mavericks on them...), but I was wondering if the cost (more than double that of Duckfeet) was justified. Just wonder'n. Hit me back.

PS--I enjoy this forum so I still post on here but honestly haven't touched a kneeboard since summer cuz' I can't afford one, and a bodyboard is cheaper. No worries though...speedbumps are cool too.

New UDTs from Greg Deets have different flex in the rubber but overall UDTs much longer than Ducks so lots more thrust but lots more work to kick

I haven't tried duck feet at all yet. Neither the normal or UDTs. The normal ones look fun though. It wouldn't exactly be easy to DK with, but I ride mostly prone anyhow, with the occasional kneelo wave. I actually try to do that alot, oddly enough, everyone asks me if I meant to get up all the way, and I tell them, "No..." and usually they're confused! Its more fun driving from rail to rail on your knees. I usually get down low and grab my outside rail and drrrrivvvveee when I kneel. Pretty fun. I've busted a floater, snap and cutback to this point. Its cool.

I do use Tech1's right now; they have amazing thrust, but probably sub-Duckfeet thrust. Duckfeet are cheaper, too, so I might actually go buy a pair because the my Tech1's are wearing thin.

Anyhow, thanks for the responses. I was mostly curious; I think they'd be a pretty cool edition to a collection (the UDTs, I might actually buy a pair of regular Duckfeet), but I don't know if I'd have much use for them (the UDTs)!

Lots more fin blade area ( haven't measured, but twice as much seems in the ballpark) , lots more thrust, the majority of the fin area is out at some distance from your foot so it's doing some serious work for you. Both these fins are size Large, and I have indeed used both. No comparison as to thrust, it's the UDTs all the way.

I'll also note that the photo shown features some older UDTs, which have a harder footpocket/softer blade similar to the new Deets UDTs, but the new ones ( mine are blue speckled) are a helluva sight prettier. Thrust is what I'll call 'equivalent', as I have no way to test 'em that'd give usable and reliable answers. Comfort about the same, good for those of us whose feet are in the EE and wider range.

where do you get the blue marble ones? I hate to sound like mr fin fashion, but those things look tight!

They come in red speckles too, for that racy look, or all-black for formal wear. Kinda depends on what they have in stock at the time. I paid considerably less than $70/pair and I got two pairs, as I seem to recall they were offering a deal if ya bought two pairs.

They will mix colors and sizes. If you are going with two different sizes, say one for winter and thick boots and one for summer and thin or no boots, different colors might be a move.

check out http://www.flipsswimfins.com XXL UDTs weigh 2 pounds 12 ounces EACH! Duckfeet a bit less maybe 2 pounds or a bit more. My flips which have considerably more thrust then Ducks, with my added old leash cuff tether weigh 12 ounces each. I barely feel them except for all that water I'm trying to push around with them...
