spoons - a topic beat to death i know, but i'm new, humor me

Post by ocean7847 »

so it appears that to find an original or at least older/vintage/old school spoon you have to be very lucky and/or be willing to drop boatloads of cash.

is there no one who makes spoons these days? does anyone make duplicates of greenoughs models? is the spoon-maker extinct?

i, of course, want one because i think they would be great to ride and a new experience compared to surfing, kneeboarding, bodysurfing, and sponging.

thanks for any answers or time you take you reply, i know this topic is probably very old to the veteran posters around here.

thats a new pic to me....anyone know who the rider is???...spoons take lots of time and effort to make....if your serious about it you should check out ron romanowkys website or flexspoon.com........the only practical way to really get one is to make it yourself.....

Ocean7847,

Why don't you PM me and tell me where you live: maybe I can work out a way for you to get some time on a quality spoon to see how you like it.

I'm even an acquaintance of the guy the who made it!

Mike,
Why don't you also post the pics and story on flexspoon.com. George D has a good collection of spoon info and history over there. I think everybody'd on both sites would be interested.
