Merry Christmas Mr. K!!

The water has cleaned up down this way following that big swell. It's
still looking grungy though over in town. Temp is down too, around
47-48 degrees F. which could be helping to kill off those little red
microbastards.

Big, clean surf today at my favorite area north of Santa Cruz. 2X-3XOH on the big sets. Glassy and light crowd, considering the quality. Some of the Mavs crew on their 8'6" boards. One other kneelo, Jim Marty. Got some great waves, and some great cleanups; it wasa best just to let it blast you away into the inside and paddle back out in the channel rip.

So many other reefs looked good but not many takers.

ScottyMac, I loved your pics!

Didn't surf today, but got some really fun waves yesterday up Cayucos way.
Had some really nice 5' lefts all to myself -don't know why, guess alot of regular footies. . .
Maybe it was because at dawn it was bitterly cold, I was the second guy out, me and my standup buddy Mark from the peoples republic of Los Osos
Easily air in the low 40's
I actually wore my hoodie!
Nice to get some fun waves.
Peace to all as the great day approaches. . .

Nevertheless frank, Hezbollah was good enough for top to bottom barrels. I wish that you could have been there too, to see Anti-Hero RW and Waka Waka Geno shred the place. I noticed that stand-ups were getting out of the water like their Mommie's had just called them to come home!

Super high tides again up this way this morning, 6.8'. The swell was good
size early, some 8'-10' faces, but it dropped all morning. Got some fun ones but lots of paddling coz it was shifting peaks.

I looked at it before dark and the tide had dropped to a -1.8'. You could
see the exposed pilings of the old Port of Watsonville pier.

A few from today - surfed a fun little left with JohnS this morning. Also
some good rights rolling through on the other side of the peak we
were out at. Pretty much just the two of us all morning, when we left
about five guys paddled out to take the scaps.
