Believe me when I say it's definitely one to buy and put in your collection, 'cause you'll want to watch it over and over again - excellent movie. Well done Simon

Perhaps Sparrow, you need to set up a self destructing (expiring!) down load (at a cost) for those who only want to watch a movie once. I have no idea if its possibe or viable or whatever, but "$40 bones" is expensive if one is not of the repeat playing disposition.

Here is my 2 cents

as many know I can not afford to give that these days

 Go price a DVD put out by one of the BIG surf industry companies

$29.99 is the usual going rate some less some more expensive

with full production crew and  BUDGET :!:

most are written off as business expense or loss

I may be bias but come on people

as stated in other post the median age is up there so we all have

decent jobs/careers put the $$$ money and support

other wise have a feeling this could be the last effort

go without something

$40 is bargin these days

Hi JDC :)
Ive done enough i think as far as getting kneeboarding available to the masses.
For anyone who thinks that $40 is too much to pay then so be it. I do not expect everyone to want a copy or even enjoy the movie.
For those who are how was it put "not of the repeat playing disposition". they can go down to the video store & rent out a kneeboard movie
or for something a little more readily available we have U Tube :!:
available to watch as many times as you wish. As many are aware i have my movies on there to whet anyones appetite.
The choice is there to look at the whole thing by buying a copy. I understand that many people will choose to watch someone elses copy (a friend) but the big question then arises :?:
If everyone picks this path who is going to put up the money to make the next movie if it is not going to be bought :?:
Let me say this one more thing.
If anyone knows (not many) how hard these movies are to put together & the huge amount of time it takes away from me & my family they will understand how much of an insult it is to me when people comment about borrowing or copying or its too much money even if it is meant as a joke.
The options are available for everyone to view some sort of kneeboarding on their monitor. If you want to watch one of my movies please come up to the plate & support kneeboarding by supporting me & think about the bigger picture

peace :)

Here's an

I'd happily put up $40 in advance for Simon's next DVD - are they good or what :D

If 250 of KSUSA's 1385 members did the same, Simon would have $10,000 to help him make the next film and also some reassurance in that 250 (or more) copies had pre-sold 8)

All of Simon's films are awesome and we don't really have anyone else doing what he is doing, so how about starting a film fund where everyone who want's to offer their support and show their appreciation of what he is doing can, by putting in $40 in advance to help fund his next DVD?

Simon's next DVD

Post by halbs »

Simon's productions have increased in quality with each instalment if you ride a kneelo you need to own one, no question. For the next effort I'm willing to put up a couple of thousand if I can be chief board technician or wax scraper, nah on a more serious note if an advance is required sign me up. We need to support Simon or we will regret losing this excellent source of entertainment and way in which we can "show" others how to leave the darkside and join the light!!
getting there is often as good as getting there

I'd put up $40 in advance too.

Anyone who considers themselves in a position to criticise would surely have had to put out a dvd of their own. Consider the work and expense that goes in to it.

The surf industry dvd's are cheaper but they're going to sell tons more and make a shed load of cash. If every kneelo in the world bought a copy of one of Simon's dvd's I can't see him earning enough to retire on.

Any kneelo who buys a copy and then doesn't watch it more than once can't really be that in to their kneeboarding. Can they?

Simon - Count me in for an investment towards your next flick. I have already secured two new cd's ready for the soundtrack. I'm sure Skansand is busy with new material as well.

I've worked as a technical advisor and publicist of a few big budget films all the way down to working on local starving artist films. No matter the level, the film makers put their total hearts into these projects as well as their resources. KBing is such a small part of the surfing world, its would be difficult for the major surf companies to rationalize budgeting for a KB film. So that leaves it to the KBers themselves to pony up.

Let us know what you need, when you need it and we'll be there.

James, 8) what a bloody great idea....I'll be in that, a shareholder in Simon's next movie....seriously if anyone were to get it going 1. would you be interested, Simon ? :D :D and 2. would the KSUSA be intrumental in setting up a fund like the "Grommets to Phillip Island" one ? 8) 8)
3. Simon, when can you start ? :D :D 4. How do I get a position on the film crew?

Well said Russ.
I baulked a little at $80 for 2 DVD`s, as i`m a pensioner living in a shack.
I`d gladly pay $40 up front to help Simon.
I`m sure many of us kneelo`s would be salivating at the thought of a new movie.
