That''s Steve Yamamoto. He's been charging crazy waves at Blacks for years.

When the first frost came this year I had a black ant infestation in my pantry.
That's what that line up reminded me of !!
INSANE CROWDS!
The last time I surfed Blacks was at least 25 yrs ago.
Is this a normal crowd these days?
How times have changed. . .
That looks frickin' dangerous.
I don't know how you guys do it. . .
Be safe.

I saw that guy on the yellow board (Blacks footage) get quite a few of those rights that day.

That Swami's footage is indicative of the ridiculousness that has become SD County. the only time to surf that place is midnight on a full moon.

Unbelieveable ... I had no idea that there was so many people surfing, I cannot even imagine the parking areas,

All I have to say is that if you try and find nooks in the coast with heavy waves, there won't be too many takers. Localism is another story, but as far as sheer volume of neoprene in the water, you have much less to worry about.

I haven't done this on a kneeboard yet, but on a bodyboard, yes. There are uncrowded waves out there, it just depends on how bad you want to lose the crowds. Issues of safety come into play. But I guess if you are dealing with over 60-100 people in the lineup, a reefbreak or a really rocky inside area doesn't look so bad?

And FYI, I'm not saying a break like Black's isn't a very dangerous wave, because from its track record speaks for itself.
dropkneeing is a sin...isn't it?
