High tide ... low tide and Yuletide tide greetings.

Keep it moist girls ... have a good one.

An ode the the season ...

the
zinc cream
ice cream sundays
cicadas and mangoes
blowflies n seafood
sunburn on the nose
Yuletide falls in summer, like the smell of rain onto hot roads
thats christmas in Australia
aye

the sound of leather on the timber of a kookaburra bat
or a batsman scoring fifty and raising up that hat
floppy green they call it, the pride of aussie cricket
boxing days a test match, howzat, another wicket

traditional how you get
and you get it here in spades
kicking back under the veranda
necking coldies in the shade
peeling prawns n shucking oysters
watermelon for the kids
its the grouse
a bloody bottler
and
you wouldn't be dead for quids

Wishing Everyone A Very Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year

Old Crazy warned us about this optimism stuff ... rationalisation and back peddling he said ... that whats required to strive and survive.

Whilst we're on the subject of peddling … in any direction … Old Crazy decided to shift through some of the shizzle that hit the fizzle in 2013.

Apart from the numerous plane … train and automobile crashes throughout the year that was … Lance Armstrong got derailed … hit the bitumen and fell from grace in one less than graceful moment. Pinocchio on a tricycle. The pope quit too … handed in the red shoes and sent a letter of resignation to god. His brother said paedophilia was keeping him awake at night. Cue Dennis Ferguson … who also handed in his chips … although technically that was 2012. Speaking of rats … scientists managed to connect two rodent brains together … apparently they can now successfully share information. Humans on the other hand are still relying on wikileaks … facebook and twitter.

The most perplexing twit of all … one Kim Jong Un was all over the shop … cutting phone lines … tearing up the armistice agreement … kidnapping pensioners … letting of nuclear fireworks … declaring war … giving bullets to old friends and relatives … delivered through the end of rifles. Hey who needs enemies when you have fiends like that. Dennis Rodman does ... thats who.

Enough of that … Scotland defeats Sweden to win the 2013 World Women's Curling Championship … and same sex marriage is going down all over the place. Vladimir Putin's wife apparently isn’t … they're getting a divorce. Lets hope old Vlad doesn’t enlist Kim Jong's legal team.

At the 142nd British Golf Open Phil Mickelson shot a 281. Meanwhile Kim Jong Un lands 5 holes in one and shoots 38 under par during his maiden round … but he hits quadruple figures with the firing squad. Booyah … and you thought he was just a nuclear antagonist and a despot.

Bashar al-Assad gets sick of little Kim stealing the limelight and gets in on the act with a bit of chemical weaponry hi-jinx. Then again would you expect anything less from a bloke who's last name sounds like arse-hat.

From one arse hat to a town designed specifically for them. Canberra … and Tony Yeah-but wins the federal erection. Julia leaves town on a hairdresser … whilst K Rudd implodes on an election. Big Clive buys a seat … rides in on a dinosaur and promises to build the titanic.

Someone won the tennis … and a bowl. The ashes too … crickets holy grail. Now is no time to be mean spirited towards the Poms … I mean they colonised Australia and orchestrated a truly delightful tea party in Boston. Not to mention the beach party they threw at Gallipoli all those years ago. They just haven't managed a good innings of late. But some more notable innings have come to an end throughout the year.

Paul Bearer the American professional wrestling manager met another undertaker … lets face it … he did alway look like death warmed up.

Peter Banks and Alvin Lee … British guitar hero's strummed their last chord.

Margaret Thatcher … the ironing lady … sorry iron lady … cashed in her chips to mixed emotions. Hey you can't please em all.

David Frost came close but died on Queen Elizabeth … no not the old woman … the boat.

American musicians Ray Mazarek … George Jones … JJ Cale and Lou Reed have all left the building thank you very much. Fly into the sun Lou … fly into the sun.

Ken Norton finally threw in the towel … one more fight boss … one more fight.

Tom Clancy stopped looking for red october … ended the chapter and signed off.

Ronnie Biggs has done his time … and now he's done a bunk.

One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. Rolihlahla Madiba … or Nelson Mandela as he is more widely known ... passed away peacefully to the tears of the world.

Peter O'Toole … one hump or two … Lawrence of Arabia … actor … drinker and charismatic star of stage and screen took the final curtain call. Standing ovation.

Last and definitely not least who could forget good old uncle Jang Sung-taek … executed for thrice cursed treason … or to put it another way … was murdered by a loon.

OK … so Old Crazy may have omitted a few … thats to be expected … Huey has been far from diligent in his deliveries. To say this is causing havoc and turmoil would be an understatement … stir-crazy's the word … hyphened and all.

Happy nude year … build a ladder to the stars and climb on every rung … but make sure you're wearing the appropriate clothing and always follow work place health and safety legislation.

14 hey … bring it on.

Well yes of course ... women's hairdressing can be quite riveting at times.

Old Crazy's rather partial to the occasional foil too.

January the tooth hey ... thats a long time between drinks at the cripple-dome. Where ya been ? said Old Crazy gazing at his reflection on the bottom of an empty glass. Oh ... just doing stuff ... you know ... same shizzle different drizzle ... as the dog of snoop snoop doggy dogs would say.

Twenty fourteen has not beed the greatest year of Old Crazies surfing career ... to many interruptions involving shoulders placed on grindstones and the ever present necessity of keeping the wheels of industry in motion. You're a cog said Old Crazy from the bottom of the glass ... a toothless one at that ... geared to failure when it comes to digging rail ... and get out from under the car ... that whine in the gearbox isn't for drinking.

Digging rail you say ... more like bogging than digging ... but hey forget about that ... as fate has would have it ... its state of origin time again ... and the blues are one up ... the cane toads are heading south on one leg ... hopping mad ... smarting even. Revenge they want as wounds they lick. Time will tell ... it can't keep a secret.

Stuck in the backwaters of a creek called breakfast ... Old Crazy can gaze at a pub with the same name ... they cook steaks and sell refreshments. The punters will be there again tonight ... hoping for a better outcome. Old Crazy won't go ... he refuses to do crowds ... solitudes his thing ... hard to find in Brisneyland ... but reality is only a sate of mind ... god speed you little blue cockroaches.

Need a 2nd mortgage to eat & drink at the Breaky Ck these days anyway. Old Crazy's hope of a blues res erection may be on the money this year. Hopes have been dashed before with QLD involved so nothing is certain until Gina sings

Hello sports fans … especially those with ties to the wealth of common. Those Glasgow games are pretty much done and dusted now … after the diamonds kicked ahead of the silver ferns and the kookaburras belted all and sundry … Australia can rest on its laurels once again. Mind you the poms did end up on top … followed by the chunder from down under … Canada … Scotland … India … NZ and the sith iffricans. Bejeebers even Trinidad and Tobago picked up 8 medals … no gold ones though. Jamaica grabbed 22 shiney bits … I think Bolt got all those for the 100 … he's a bit fast that lad.

The yanks haven’t been invited since the fiasco with all that tea and Boston and such. They'll have to wait for the olympics.

Now to local news … and what wonderful news it is at that. The 2015 international cat herding invitational is to be held in Kiama on the southern outskirts of old sinney town. Its a walruses habitat too … also … as well. Old Crazy is frothing at the mouth … he really needs to lay off the rat sack … and he's threatening to go down … no not like that. Toothless hookers aside … Old Crazy wants in … to be part of the action … rub shoulders … wag chins … chew the fat and all of that. This ain't no contest … its a party … and Old Crazy's going to dance that good time dance. He's bringing the boom box … his trench coat … woollen sox … a beany … the dock martins and fourteen pairs of jocks. Shits gunna get real … and messy. Bring a mob.
