Kneeboards at Mollusk!?!

For those of you who don't know Mollusk is a surf shop in San Francisco (and Brooklyn, NY and Venice, CA) that tends to stock the more unusual style of surfboards. They have art boards, mini-single fins, retro everything etc. It's a hipster shop in a hipster town and although I dig the boards that they have, I only buy off thier used rack.

So now I check the web and see they're stocking Pendoflex kneeboards! New! and not just one but two of them!

Is kneeboarding becoming hipster?http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hipster

On a side note, a day after Thanksgiving I saw S.W. get a deep barrel where no barrel should be. Nice one.

Hey AM, what was the fin setup on those boards,I know Pendo's partial to pulled in fish templates with twin high aspect fins? Cappy, you should be able to contact Pendo through the Greenroom in OB. Pendo actually shaped a kneeboard for Rich Pavel back when Rich was in Jr High.

I've never seen the site before...what a great lineup of shapers and boards. Pavels, Mandalas, Mabiles and a bunch of others. You guys in SF are a lucky bunch.

who can tell me where the "flex" comes from in a "Pendoflex"? Are they stringerless?

Kid, I think it has to due with the flex you get from the deck being soft. Rich mentions something about it in one of those interviews on the net somewhere. Cappy, I think Grayman is only half right it IS a gift BUT it's still gonna cost ya.

Scott

That board is a work of art. Does it ride as good as it looks?

It breeds nothing but intense desire within me!

I would love to ride a board like that in some lined up, sucky barrels!

Beautiful!

Yeah, I agree...that Manny is one saweet shape. I guess he's getting into Pavel / Lis status...getting a board from him is kinda like pulling teeth. I got shut down last year after inquiring...wouldn't even take a deposit.

I guess my reputation precedes me

Hey Cappy,

I guess it's better to hear sitars in the background...last few shapers I talked to, I could've sworn I heard "Dueling Banjos" playing somewhere.
:? :(
