Indonesia last weekend

Post by Doc Turbo »

We had a pretty major swell last weekend, starting last Friday. Friends said Bali was going off. I caught the rare left point break again on, but soft at overhead. Heard One palm was breaking and some serious hand injury action requiring a slow 4 hour boat ride back to Jawa, followed by long journey to hosptial and many stitches for the poor guy.

Anyone get Bali on?

Pete Nurse from Cali in Bali? Which Pete is this? I think you might of surfed with Mike a standup from Cali-Jakarta last Friday?

SteveA, Dave, boys, lets have some pictures!!! Tom?

Dude I saw that on the news, people jumping from buildings the whole nine years, even got of shot of you in your smiling face skivvies.

I too recovering from freaking bird or babi flu, sore throat, does not help that the traffic across our country has become MACET totally I am stuck in the house, a new one with a guest room for you, if you are single that is and do not do the unmentionable Island boat whoops

Hope Paul got some waves, and Tom recovered and the EA board of Tom recovered, I will call you soon. Minal aidin

Mesa Lane is an awesome place to live, I used to live just below the mesa near SBCC. JackG has a nice house within a very short walk of the stairs.

I'm sure Mesa has had some fun surf lately with the windswell, always a good early season spot.

Surfed mid-beach 1-3 or so this PM.

Dead glass.

Fall.

8)

Syd was heading out... it was getting sunny, it looked slightly offshore, and the tide was heading out.

Only stayed out about 45 min. The tide starting ripping out, longshore currents picked up, and the shape got a bit funky. Traffic back to the office was light though.

Been some decent waves a bit north of here, and looks to be a good nw this weekend in the 10'-12' range(buoys)...16-18 sec range.A bit more juice would be ok.Time for a wind swell break...
Hopefully this funky red tide will disperse.A lot of complaints of stuffed up nasal passages, and ear infections. This has been the worse year I can remember.....

Non stop waves for the last 2 weeks.

Yesterday afternoon, during a water break from shaping, I saw former Pipeline Kneeboard Expression Session (1978) champ Rick Curtis, catch a few at Back Yards lefts . It was pumping 8' very thick and powerful with the rising swell, and a bit rugged from the trade winds.
He was the only guy out !!!
 8)

VERY SOLID 15' Hawaiian scale this morning.
Tow in crews are all over it.

Should eat the beach away to allow Pipeline to show good form.

I'm nursing a broken rib so it's back to the shaping room for me.
