Yeah ,I think we all did pretty well the last few days, we took a crew of 4 to some breaks a bit north of L.A. and scored 6'-8' face rights with a few 10' face sets that at times were rather long.
Jack B ,Big Fred ,Big Tony ,and myself. The water was some of the oiliest glass I have ever seen at 3:00 pm in cali sunday and monday, can't wait to do it again 8)

we have been getting swell after swell. the Northwest side seems almost always lit up. so much waves everyone is spread out and surfed out. too many sessions with less than 5 guys out. Kawaihae is consistent so in between real waves Kel and i have been scoring on the big boards. i'm sunburnt....tired....feeling old but extremely stoked. 8)

Don and I were first out this AM mid-town, and all sorts of barrels were to be had. Reeling ones, square ones, spitting ones... :D

Syd was also out a wee bit North of us. He's been personal ski instructor for his kids lately, and a bit jaded after scoring perfect surf in Indo

It was getting a bit funky with the tide as we left

Went back to the same spot this morning. Only slightly smaller but more a series of colddd!! slamming close outs. It was definitely a right time, right place type of morning. I think Lawton area has the best bars right now. New swell on the way so things will change again.

I was between Kirkham and Lawton this morning and had a great time. So good I went in to eat and then paddled back out without taking off the wetsuit. Size was about 4-6' and I didn't have trouble dodging the closeouts, but I DID have trouble staying in one place. The peak I liked best had current flowing away from it on either side. No matter where I sat I had to constantly readjust to stay with the peak. It was a back and forth kind of morning.
It could be worse, I could be in Oakla-homa.
