Yesterday was good at OBSF. Sunny day, offshore wind and quick inner sandbar slammers that had most of the footboarders going over the falls. One friend that normally kids me about riding the kneeboard had to give me credit for the rides I was able to pull off. Not to mention I saw two other kneeboarders out there. Here's to the rest of the year being more of the same.

AM Glass (Travis),

Great post about OB. Always fun to watch smaller days when so many are getting pitched out, and then paddling out and making it happen on a kneeboard. I might have joined you if I didn't sprain my ankle over the weekend--I was hoping to come north.

Surf report for 1/6:

Cold, offshore, building swell... not so clean but a few nice shoulders.

But...

That didn't explain the sailboat beached at mid-beach...

What REALLY didn't make sense was the 'BAD VIBE BOB'S' spray-painted on the hull...

I'm not kidding... big, big letters. Probably visible from space...

And the legend continues...

SB Report - NW Swell is starting to fill in, still have fun south coming in Ventura.

Surfed Emma Wood this morning, 2-3' with glassy shape and fast corners. Long wait between good sets though..

Rincon is almost breaking as of this afternoon, will be on it this evening and tomorrow hoping some winter action comes through 8)

We have only had limited surf in the last few months, with a couple swells last week. Well looks like a swell hitting today and tomorrow, so we are hitting Panaitan.

Chart posted in Album
I know it is just a forecast, but really hoping the swell hits. We are doing the feral bit to Panaitan tomorrow through the weekend. 2 kneeboarders (Doc and Grahame) who are half of the known indonesian based kneelo club. Tom Stevea wish you were coming. Promise a report and hopefully some waves, right handers

Rincon turned on today finally. HH+ on the good sets, got a couple of steep faces that ran past the rivermouth. Glad to get some winter surf finally.

Hey Mason,

Thanks for the report...sounds FUN. Next Wed if you have time there's a good chance for surfing with some other kneelos since many are headed up to Santa Cruz on that day and everyone hopes it'll be good there 8)

Rincon - Very long waits between waves on the low tide(JackG and I freezing our balls off) but picked up with consistency with the incoming tide. Some good corners, mostly 2-4'. More consistency and 50 of my best friends came out to surf also

Got to meet George of Flexspoon.com and his buddy out there, both riding spoons. Made me want to take mine out, had just figured it was too small.

Brad- Rincon is FULL of kelp and in need of a big swell to clear that out and clean the bottom a bit, still some great corners coming through but we'll see if theres swell  This winter has been terrible for SB.

Masons - be patient. The best months are January thru April. Usually a swell or two in Nov- Dec just to get everyone frothing.....
