always have used duckfeet tried redleys, churchill but go back to the duckies any suggestion on any good flippers!

i have always used churchills , but my suggestion to you is"stay with what is comfortable ,and what you like,why change?" i know it is not progressive thinking but if they work for you stick with them.

TRY FORCE FINS NOT CHEAP BUT VERY COMFY.
I DON'T GET FOOT CRAMPS WITH THEM.

Been using a pair of HB Octofins....very light, comfortable, short blades with good acceleration. Got mine on ebay for $20.

If you like duckfeet ... You might want to try a pair of VIPERS. I stared kneeboarding in 1970. Started with duckfeet ... then all green churchills,then churchill makapus. Now VIPERS. Lots of power, but a short blade. No drag off the board and easy to walk the reef in. I use the orange splash as my left ankle has some issues. Good luck.

I switched from Churchills to Vipers cause I was always loosing the left flipper.... now I always have an extra flipper on hand.... I do have to import them from Mitches in SD though.... so in conclusion; stay away from flippers that are foot specific....

i used to use vipers and still have a pair i always throw in my boat. great all around flipper. fantastic thrust for it's size. but for surfing i use Toobs blunt cut. they are not side specific. they are short which fits in a backpack better and puts less strain on leg muscles, easier to waddle in. good thrust but the cool feature is their flat top. they contact the board better.

I have been using pod fins for years, now the Pod PF2’s they have a comfortable foot pocket and a stiff blade the gives you great acceleration when scrapping for waves. You can pick them up at www.alternativesurf.com . I would highly recommend them for a combination of power and comfort. They are my fin of choice. Good luck with the quest. Cheers TC

I use duckfeet and like most of the guys I have tried other makers also. It`s about what works for you. I custom work mine. The duckfeet have 3 ribs. I remove the center rib and that lets the fins become flexible. Not alot , but enough flex to cut down my leg cramps. I also didn`t notice a loss of power. Another pair that I have, I removed all three ribs. I found I lost alot of the power. Now those are extras.

Started with the single blue duck-foot that made some giant craters on top of my toes..yuk!!

Then the green churchills for years till I wore holes in many pairs. Very Favorite!!

The old soft blade yellow/blue churchills were good and never had any problems with them hangin off the edge of the board. Went to the XL ones and never looked back, also got warm feet with 5mil booties year round.

The new yellow/blue churchills are too stiff and long of blades to hang off the rail. Dont wear them backwards on the wrong feet either, very dangerous!! Now I cut them off straight from the short side and wear them on the wrong feet with thin edge off rail with no problems and good power.

Tried the new design churchill splashers and they are heavy, wide and stiff.

Bill, I'm just like you. Started with duckfeet that left the craters on the tops of my toes, looking like the dark side of the moon!
Switched to the green churchills for the comfort of the foot pockets.
When they weren't available, the old soft blade yellow/blues came out andI've been using those ever since.
But now in the winter, I'm back to the duckfeet with the Greenough modification.
I'm not getting anymore craters on my toes, so maybe I have a softer pair of duckfeet I just feel that the duckfeet gives me more power than anything else.

Anyone tried the KICKS fins?

duck feet in big surf (winter), churchills (or your personal fin of choice) in smaller surf.

at an average of $20-$30 per pair, it's affordable to try anything and everything until you find something that suits YOU. After all, feet are like snowflakes...not everyone has the same.

Just try to not wear anything that looks too gay.

Or, you can be like a lot of the other guys, and wear no fins at all.

FINS are a swim aid you put on your feet (aka, SWIMFINS).
