CA State Park Showers

Went surfing at HB river jetties Friday. (Small but fun.) After the surf I go to the showers. They were turned off. Went to Doheny Sunday same thing. There was a note up on the shower. Closed because not enough tine to maintain because of furlough days. All the bathrooms were open. Is this state park employes way to give us (the public) the finger.

Is this going on in all state parks?

The answer is Yes. The guys who turned the water off aren't the guys you see at the beach working. Well physically it is them but they get there orders from above. Arny thinks that it is OK for you to go home sandy and salty.

  Not to be rude..but me thinks you folks might be a bit spoiled.Unless this is tongue in cheek, very suble if it is.A few jugs of water work real well,And if they're black they''ll absorb the heat.Save water, shower with a friend, preferably a female....

I bring jugs to the beach. I also bring tiolet paper because there are so many A-holes in the summer.

I changed out of my wetsuit Saturday morning in a dirt
turnout alongside HWY1. The ground was thick clay - just add
a little water to it and drop your wet wtsuit in it = a sticky,
muddy mess.

You know K-man that's what I've been telling the females for a very long time!

Now that the higher-ups in the Calif. govt. have made the water shortage official now they all wanna be my friends! Remember awhile back,

Gov. Arnie said he was going to close (chain+lock) a few of the state parks to help out with this deficet were having in Sacramento. hmmm?

Have to agree with you Mark.
I have been using an old Costco bleach bottle that I painted black for the last 8 yrs. ( they are bulletproof ) it holds over a gallon, enough for a decent wash off. Even for a guy as big as Capt. Kneemo

a little off subject, but I bought a couple camping showers, 10liter and 20 liter bags, black with a little handle, set on the roof of the car during a surf, rubber floor matte on the ground, and we are good to go, best investment in gear this year.

10liter and 20 liter bags!!Now your talking!....Great idea.
For the winter I use one of those plastic 6pakers with the sliding lid.Heat a gallon of water slip it inside, and it'll stay pretty hot after a 3 hr session.
Morphed abit.Luckily most of the good surf spots here are back country,no pay to play.
cheers

Scott you hold a 3 gallon jug over your head after a long surf. You the man.

My problem with the showers being off is that now we truely have the unwashed masses at the beach

I guess it really is not a health concern.

Only showers I know of on the east side are at Rockaway Beach, and they are turned off in the winter.
