There is always a kneeboarder out on those good days. I'm 2 hours from Mundaka as I write, with a brilliant forecast for the coming week.
I wonder who the lone kneeboarder was I heard about at Guethery last Wednesday.....big swell & out by himself....he also tried to rescue another surfer who spent 2 hours trying to get in against a horrendous rip.
One of Karl Wards best friends is working where I'm staying....pure coincidence....small world.
This has got to be one of the best places to be at this time of year.

Don't know, though there are a few suspects. I reckon you ought to ask Steen. If he doesn't know, no-one will.tomway wrote:Early days at mundaka. any one know to who the references are?
Bookmarked that site BTW. Looks like a cool read.
Thanks.

Crox, i'm heading over to france in june next year only 2 weeks but trying to jag a month depending on the usual [ money ] although the way the Oz dollar is heading it's looking good. Will be in touch when it gets a bit closer, i might need to put the Kneeboard bank to the test. It's really a 50th birthday trip for my wife but where there's waves there's a way, mmmm summer in france, be taking my boards. AB
once you've had black you'll never go back!!!
A hot surfer/ shaper from Perth,
Bruce Smith bought ODYSSEY surfborads from Nev Hyman (NEV SURFBOARDS / FIREWIRE) and Phil Usher and a kneelo Neil Bird was the glasser.
They were early pioneers in Spain and Mundaka and moved there in the very early 80s, eventually marrying local senoritas
Correct me if there are any errors due to possible memory failure

I am an old san diego kneeboarder (big rock class of 73) with a retro lis fish and sitting here in mundaka where the offshores from the river are producing bigger waves tnan what the ocean is offering. Heading to zarautz for the next week and possibly to biarritz.
Any tips, advice, what to bribe the locals with etc. would be much appreciated.
