AB, interesting article, not sure when the whole time frame was when these waves that were 20ft. at Cloudbreak, but a couple of days ago, I'm talking to Bird Huffman at his surf shop, and somehow we get talking about Taverua and how Mark Skinner will post pics of Resteraunts and Cloudbreak on this here website! He starts telling me about him, Mark, and his brother Rex, kneeboarding 20ft. Cloudbreak, this may or may not have been the same day. I'm sure you may remember this post! album_showpage.php?pic_id=19223. Tom Servais and Shaun Brody were taking photos of them that day. He swears that some of the ones that will never be seen will absolutely blow you away!

the shot on the forum link was a small day but still a fun size, a whole shitload of difference to 20' though, i've surfed mini cloudbreak @ 8-10' and frigates about the same and trying to paddle into those was a mission, let alone getting caught inside and getting the flogging of your life. Hooking onto a 20' er at these breaks well i'd need a lobotomy and a jety assist so am hot to see these pics. I have seen some shots of Dan, the owner of Yunuca surf camp inside a hawaian size 15' frigates beast and it was bigger than that pic of cloudbreak. What i'm saying is that there is 20' and then there's 20' either way big boards & balls required.

AB, sure you're right about the pic posted in the forum that was a small day. I'm just trying to say that what Bird was talking about the other day was that he,his brother Rex, and Mark Skinner, on their last trip to Cloudbreak, they caught it at 20' (hawaiian, australian, californian, I'm not really sure) but by the excitement in his story sounds like it was huge nevertheless! And then you posted that link about the editor from SW almost "cashed his chips in" you won't see me kneeboarding 20' Cloudbreak or frigates! Afterall these guys have been top-notch kneeboarders for over 40 yrs! I guess I'm not worthy of seeing any of these shots because I didn't get a special invite to view any of them!

We don't need to go far to find pics of kneeboarding big Cloudbreak. Bill Lerner goes there every year (lucky dog) and is ironically headed down on a flight tonight. The forecast is for solid swell next week.

Yep, they do. If you've sent one, you can check it's status in your message box. If it's in the Outbox the recipient hasn't picked it up. If it's in the Sentbox it's been picked up and read.

Rex was surfing Cloudbreak, and he cracked his rib doing a flying kickout on the inside, had to corda zone himself to stay in the water, he said he is paying for it now...
