Just picked this board up yesterday and can't seem to find any info on SeaSki.

Anyone have any input on this board?

Beautiful board. SeaSki was started by Steve Walden in Huntington Beach in the early '70's, about '74 Steve sold SeaSki to Ron Lingenfelter and bailed for the North Shore. Both shaped some excellant kneeboards. Steve is still shaping boards in Ventura and Ron is the general manager of the Watermans Guild in south Orange county. I'd say that board was shaped by Ron as Steve put much wider wings on his boards and double wings came along after he left for Hawaii. www.watermansguild.com

(I used to ride my 1970 Infinity Single Fin from time to time untill I spider creased the whole bottom. It was a sad day.)

I don't know about that Craiger, but my first custom kneeboard was a SeaSki swallowtail shaped by Steve Walden and my first fish was a SeaSki shaped by Ron Linegenfelter, it was pure magic after a couple sessions spent scratching my head trying to figure out how to ride it. So, I'm mighty happy to see this jewel.

Hate to break your hearts, but I'll be riding this lil guy around Newport, and at Wedge when it gets good.

So it was a good deal at $100 off Craigslist?

Here's a shot of my last 70's singlefin craigslist find down at wedge. It took the beatings and thats why I seek'm out.

Well, what i can't understand why you're stalking me?

Three responders I know gave you honest answers, all suggesting 'wall hanger.'

BTW, wrt stalking... I've been on erBB since 2003 with a fairly low profile. You? Not so much. I've been on Daily Bread now and then, and do like it.

Jason, In the early 70's So.Cal kneeboarders rode El Paipo's, Kneeski's, and Seaski's.

I personally rode a Kneeski until it was so delaminated it wouldn't go anymore.

So for the purist of our discipline finds like yours are a rare treat, and I'm sure you know exactly what you have there

There are amongst our ranks kneeboarders who charge huge Wedge when it's on you've seen them, you should ride the board as intended and give it a go.

Well, I gave it a go down at Creek this morning in waist-chest high Gravels. Rode it both standup and on the knees and am pretty stoked on the board, was able to feel some down the line speed on one standing up. Rode it on the knees on a couple where I pulled into little barrels and came out where I didn't think I would, the thing keeps driving even when you're getting grabbed by the lip to the head.

Some new possibilities have come to mind riding on the knees, and I'm not thinking Wedge either. But the spots I have in mind are winter breaks so I'll have to wait a while.

Just for the record, I'm all for riding it. Took out my 25 year old Pavel yesterday and regularly ride a 35 year old Lis. Both boards work much too good to just hang on a wall and look at.

Jason, I remember that shot of you at wedge,luv it. you have also gotten a few good ones of me, and just to enlighten a few folks, Jason is an all around waterman. he rides everything from his hand board up to his longboards ,bonzers and a whole list of other craft. and he does a pretty good job behind the lens
