Looks like it's our turn. Dont think we've ever had an attack at the Mount but there's always a first time. Good surf in the morning too. Who's game to join me.

The main beach at Mt Manganui has been closed after a surfer had a close encounter with a shark.

Lifeguards have closed the beach this afternoon, after a surfer in the water just south of the main beach reported that a shark had lunged at him.

The surfer was not injured, but lifeguards closed the beach due to their policy.

The beach is expected to remain closed for several hours.

The species of shark and its size are not known.

G`day Howard, i heard there is safety in numbers.
Wouldn`t surf too early in the morning though, that`s when the noahs come inshore for breakfast.

Spent a few hours at Noosa today, only 2 ft but offshore and warm water.

Howard we have this great radio program on late night called Coast to Coast. They have all kinds of weird topics. One day it's about werewolves, then the next they have NASA Phd's talking about space. I stay up late at night waiting to be abducted. I'll let you, and the government know when it happens.

mike how will you know if you do get abducted i heard they wipe your memory, unless of course they leave an anal probe hanging out your hole, then i spose it would be a dead give away
