HB Pier Goes Off Saturday 6-25-11

Post by Casey Patelski »

N. Side HB Pier 2nd 3rd and 4th peak were probably the best I've seen in 9 months to a year. Super glassy A-Frames and long left bowls, 8 ft solid, classic HB. So Stoked. Surfed with Razor, Ed, Carl, Cake, Shewy, and Big Fred. Fred ripped his FCS out on his first jammin wave...bummer. Water 64. Spring suit time.

Wedge saturday morning,Mike Fernandez shooting from the water (taking a few on the head) sets were 8-12 on the face and shape was pretty good.
Pretty bad rip between Wedge and Cylinders so I'm sure staying in position was a real b%&*h for Mike.
Waves were really fun.
Me and 2 sponges for the first hour trading waves

Joe bring what you have. I had my Blast with me, but decided to wait for a little smaller day for my first time in 30 years.

July 1 and there's another nice NW swell. 8)
Sunset Point has great little peelers with 8 people out.
Back Yards has a bunch of different peaks to choose from and nobody out..........yet

July 3rd and 4th were surprising: HOT on the 3rd and still blue skies on the 4th. HH short-period waves all over the place.

BillL... surfed with Dr. Dave yesterday. He was bagging the good ones as usual!

SFKneelo, where you out at OB? I watched it for 5 hours on Saturday, and 3 on Monday and never saw anything among the ragged closeouts that tempted me to go surf. The north end looked the cleanest, which is where I spent most of my time trying to motivate. It was a dry 3-day weekend for me.
It could be worse, I could be in Oakla-homa.

AM... SLOW response, sorry!

Went out North end both days around 8:30 or so.

Since then, we've left and are in Boston and onward.

Have no clue what's going on back there, but hope to bag some out here.

Chest+ and offshore in New Smyrna Beach, FL yesterday. Had my fill of fast long walls- great sandbars here. My version of paradise; clean beaches, warm water and the best fishing on the East coast.

Really nice timing Doug! I'm fishing a lot over here. Caught a couple Perch last weekend in Rincon, ate them. Also caught a Skate, and a 2-3ft shark my brother saw as he reached for the line. The line broke, and I never saw it.
Last evening I had a big one, really fought it for 15 minutes on four pound test, but the line broke. :?  No idea what it was. Water had to be 68-70f though. 8)

Doug:

Fun chest high waves about 1,000 miles north of you in OCNJ this morning. Light NW winds. No fishing just dolphin watching.

Nick.
